I’m going to sound crazy here, but follow this line of thought from my comment over at GFZ.

In the years from 2006 to 2011, the ATF deliberately allowed guns to fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. Known as Operation “Fast and Furious,” it was an apparent Machiavellian plan by the Obama Administration to make gun violence along the border to bad that the American people would demand more gun control. This single operation proved that the left generally, and the Obamas specifically, were willing to sacrifice US lives to further their goals and objectives.

If you had predicted all of those things back in 2019, I myself would have called you a nutcase.

It certainly looks like the left will kill millions in order to get and retain power. Do I think that all of this was a planned series of events? No. Do I think that they took advantage of the events to their benefit? Yes.

So now we know just how far the left will go to pursue their goals. They will lie, cheat, steal, and kill. With that in mind, lets consider that during his election campaign, Joe Biden made a number of campaign promises. He promised to:

Now take a look at today’s post from GFZ. How many headline grabbing mass shootings have there been in the past 90 days? How many happened in the preceding year?

Am I crazy? Or is this simply a continuation of the crazy that has been happening for the past 3 years? It is enough to make me feel like I have stepped through the looking glass into some alternate reality story written by a schizophrenic writer of bad pulp fiction novels.

Jesus, I am starting to sound like Alex Jones.

Humans are pattern matchers. It’s a survival trait, and one that there’s much less of a penalty from a false positive (thought I saw a tiger, run away from the food source) than a false negative (didn’t see tiger and am now tiger chow). So some – perhaps many – of us are prone to seeing correlations and causations that don’t really exist.

That said … even if it wasn’t all planned to the nines, many of the recent developments are attributable to the policies put in place by the Biden administration and executive branch in general*. The Left are very good at not letting such opportunities go untaken. A number of folks I know IRL who are generally pretty grounded and not prone to paranoia have started making comments starting with “You know I’m not a conspiracy theorist but…” And I’ve said that myself.

Perhaps it’s simply that in recent years, when bad stuff starts to happen, the administrations at various levels ignore it rather than trying to identify and head off trends early. Or “solutions” are imposed that cannot address the problem, and then doubled down. Do that often and hard enough, and, well, here we are.

Given how bad things have gotten, how quickly, it is increasingly hard to believe it wasn’t planned. And one also has to ask, at this point, whether it makes a practical difference as far as getting out of this spot is concerned.

*While some of Trump’s policies were also problematic (e.g. cutting tax rates while boosting spending), they had some offsetting positives, e.g. strong economic growth and the lowest minority unemployment rates, ever. I can’t think of a single Biden policy that has a silver lining of any significance for the population at large.

While I am against government spending as a general rule, cutting tax rates doesn’t necessarily have a negative effect on tax receipts. See the Laffer Curve.

Oh, absolutely, and I recognize that the tax rates and deficit spending are to an extent separable issues. It’s just one of the more common complaints against Trump’s economics policies.

Truth is, until “non-discretionary” spending becomes “discretionary” and is stopped, nothing is going to fix the budget. Who’s in office, though, has a large influence on how fast that part of the budget expands. But that, perhaps, is a different discussion.

It will never happen. Pay special attention to the post of tomorrow morning.

          it's just Boris · June 22, 2022 at 12:45 pm

It (reduction or elimination of “non-discretionary” spending) will have to happen eventually … just as with any non-sustainable process. The relevant questions are the timescale, and how ugly it gets before, during and after.

There is a thin … a very, minisculely thin … chance it might become sustainable, given advancement of technology. However, I don’t see the relevant advances being made in time. And I would still have issues surrounding what it does to human self-worth and culture.

Maybe add to the bullet list: trying hard to start ww3. I wouldn’t have believed that in 2019 but I wasn’t paying as much attention to alt news way back then.

Is that where the fast and furious Mexican tranny from Derp State productions got his gear?
Have you heard about the IRSS buying up massive amounts of ammo the past few months?

Uncle Bobedy · June 22, 2022 at 10:43 am

The 46th illegitimate junta telegraphs what will be removed from our lives and industrial accidents increase their frequency above the statistical average to match that goal.

Steve S · June 22, 2022 at 10:46 am

The difference between conspiracy theory and reality? About 6 months.

Believe your eyes, Occam’s Razor and three times is enemy action (means all three times were enemy action).

RobL · June 22, 2022 at 12:23 pm

Who are you going to believe? Those who would call you crazy and a conspiracy theorist, or your own lying eyes?

joe · June 22, 2022 at 6:38 pm

the defunding of police, letting blm/antifa run wild, no bail for criminals, the alphabet groups grooming crazies online to commit mass shootings, red flag laws (wouldn’t be surprised if they shoot someone while trying to seize guns shortly after all this goes in to law), etc, etc, etc…all designed to be the straw that breaks the camels back…so they can declare martial law and forcibly disarm everyone…not that they have enough people but they will try…and then it’s on like donkey kong…

Danny's not here · June 22, 2022 at 7:00 pm

I’ll drink to that.

Those that don’t die of “SADS”, myocardia, clots and strokes will be targeted by famine, (cleansing nuclear) fire or direct action when transportation is idled.

Good thing those that plan this have the digital world wired to the nines, so it can thwart concerted efforts to even slow it down.

Analog is where it’s at, I pray for a Carrington Event quite frequently, like Uncle Ted.

Model it as that in each year, the government is some fixed percent worse, like 5%. That trend is exponential (plots as a hockey stick). It is a common human mistake to model exponential processes as linear (plots as a straight line).

For example, if the cost of living increased by 6%/year in 2000-2014, by 10%/year in 2015-2020, and by 15%/year in 2021-2022. Then the total cost of living increase since 2000 is:

(1.06^(2014-2000+1))*(1.10^(2020-2015+1))*(1.15^(2022-2021+1)) = 5.61

It is a common middle class mistake to imagine that no human is evil. But Hitler was actually evil, not merely mistaken. Hitler actually did lie, he wasn’t merely confused. Hitler actually had tens of thousands of employees in the government who were evil and helped him achieve his evil goals. Similarly, today’s American politicians and their supporters in the media, bureaucracy, and voting booths are evil.
