The left is claiming that standardized testing is more a measure of the wealth of the households that the test taker live in than it is a measure of student achievement. They cite a study that found a correlation between test scores and affluence.
I agree that affluence and success on standardized tests are correlated. However, as is often said, correlation does not prove causation, but causation does require correlation. In this case, I do agree that students who test well are more likely to come from affluent households. The reason for this is simple: a person who values knowledge or is intelligent is more likely to pass these traits on to their offspring.
The basic theory here for the left is that all people are equal, meaning the same. If all people are the same, than any disparate outcome MUST be due to some unfair advantage and not due to the poor choices made by the loser. That is false, and demonstrably so.
As an example, Asian culture values the family and respect for elders as well as considering education to be a gift. For those reasons, Asian families support and push their children to work hard, respect teachers, and succeed. This is why Asians score so well on tests, earn high grades, and are generally successful in life at a rate higher than any other demographic.
On the other end of the spectrum, black families are usually single parent households, with there being little to no respect for authority figures, and possess a general dislike for education, work, or testing. As a result, blacks score lower on tests, are more likely to be lawbreakers, and are more likely to be victims of crime. This lack of work ethic, nuclear families, or respect for education is reflected in their lack of success at, well, anything.
This would be true within these demographics as well- the more respect there is for work, the more likely there will be success.
For the left, testing HAS to be eliminated. They have been claiming that math is racist. English is racist. Testing is racist. So is the credit scoring system, economics, the criminal justice system, and every thing else that exposes the left for what it is- the last refuge of people who are such losers in life that all they can do is vote for a living, and the politicians who use them as useful idiots to garner money and power for themselves.
That’s why any white person who wins is somehow a racist cheater.

TBH, almost everyone is a racist. If you can assign attributes of any kind to any particular race, then, by definition, you are a racist. While it is true that Asians seem to excel in all things academic and are seen to be an industrious people, why did they not have the most developed civilizations? Just a few decades ago, the products that came from the Orient were shunned and ‘Made in Japan’ was a mark of shoddy workmanship. What changed? I believe it was exposure to cultures that originated in Europe. But what do I know….I’m just a racist. Just to show that I am a balanced person, I’m sexist too. I’ve been married twice and both were white women. I would never consider any other kind of person for that role.

My father was a welder, and my mother was a homemaker until my brother and I were in school full time. Mom and Dad loved books, and instilled a life long love of reading in me(my brother, not so much). Blue collar all the way, and they encouraged me to excel in school. I was a top scorer on the SATs, a blue collar kid outdoing offspring of teachers and college professors. That earned me some beatings(as did my mouth, which tended to open at the worst times) and meant that I had few friends.
Excel scholastically I did, but the unfortunate side effect was that I came to prefer going to chess tourneys with fellow “gifted” students, rather than hunting and target shooting with my dad. That is one of the main things I would redo if I had the opportunity, although it means that I would never have met my wife, who has been my best friend for nearly 45 years(and my only friend since Bob G. died in 2000).
I’m downsizing my book collection, as the 20,000 or so are simply too many to maintain, and we were not able to have any children to pass them onto. But I feel a pull at my heartstrings every time I take a bag of books to the local used bookstores.

Getting rid of testing, keeping up the lie that everything is racist, and constant victimhood keeps the race hustlers in business and keeps the Democrat voter coffers full.
The worst thing the left did was destroy the nuclear family. Their work was pretty easy from there. Fix the nuclear family, and most of the other problems will correct themselves over time. Lots of obstacles though…anyone can be whatever they want, the government will take care of you, you deserve xyz, and now 8m illegals added to the mix.

It’s more than dislike of education, work, nuclear family, etc. It has long since moved onto disdain, as in the denunciation of those who “act white” or are “Uncle Toms”. Likely because it exposes the unbearable truth that it’s their own culture that is holding them back.

I’m intelligent (and trained to be counter-intelligent), self-educated (I dropped out of college twice), and score well on most tests (except personality tests, which indicate I don’t have one). I grew up hungry poor. The first set of new clothes I ever wore was issued by the Army.

Just stop working, producing, creating and paying taxes for the parasites and lets see what happens.

Hmmmm. Not sure about the affluence thing versus the focus on education and knowledge. My father made <$10K when I was a kid….. BUT he was an engineer and guided us (kids) on learning and knowledge.

I’m not sure being rich is a great favor but I do see the chances of success being greater, you can be dumb and rich and somehow fall backwards in to success a lot more easily than if poor. However generally speaking being able to do the work, find the way to study is more important. If you’re 14 or 15 and working a lot of hours in addition to doing schooling it’s a steeper climb for sure. But let’s face it most HS education classes really are not that difficult. And I also do agree that eliminating any meaningfull classes furthers both the rot in the school administration as well as dumbing down the public.

Human society makes much more sense once you realize 80% of human beings are both mentally ill (hurt themselves) and evil (hurt innocent me), and always have been. The ideas that most Americans want freedom and aren’t commies are lies, intended to prevent you from measuring the actual behavior of actual humans you can observe. Take for example the respect for property titles and contractual terms most adult siblings show after the last parent passes.
Its important to carefully track the location and direction of a leftist, just like it is for a rabid animal. They are very dangerous and can kill you. But we don’t assume rabid animals with their brains eaten by disease have sensible agendas, and we shouldn’t for leftists, either.

It is CULTURE that makes success more likely. Asian, whites, (and to a lesser extent, hispanics) have a culture of work, success, forward thinking (rather than just immediate), and patience
Blacks have (mostly) none of these traits. Their culture lacks the things that make successful outcomes.
It is, of course, the fault of the white man. It’s why Africa is a shithole everywhere there are no whites in charge, and things are shit in the cities in the US where blacks are in charge.
