I recently got into a discussion online. I know, but I can’t help myself. Another person said that transgenderism is being pushed in the schools because they are trying to groom kids into following their peers into the tranny fad.
Once a child is coerced into saying “I think I’m trans” in an attempt to fit in with the cool kids and get an eject button out of being a loser, anxiety prone teen, doctors, therapists, and counselors can only offer gender-affirming care. That means immediate hormone replacement therapy and brochures on where to obtain gender reassignment surgery. Lying to children that you can just “try on” genders by tucking your dick or binding your chest is grooming them into a cult. The staggering increase in the rate of desistence and de-transitioning shows us how flawed this ideological movement is.
A leftie responded with “Can we have just one source of any kid saying they want to be cool and trans?”
I responded with:
Kids entering puberty are in the middle of changing from following a parent role model to a peer role model. When you confront them with “all the cool kids are doing it” they will do stupid things. That’s where fads come from. Adolescents learn new social skills and behavioral tendencies by observing peers. They look at their peers’ behaviors and the positive or negative consequences these peers encounter. When certain behavior of peers has positive consequences, the adolescent imitates that behavior.
So the lefty says: “So no source? Just a spew of stupidity and hypotheticals like always?”
He doesn’t know me enough to know that I always have facts.

Then he progressed to “one of your sources is from 1978, that’s like 45 years ago.”
Then on to “It’s about scientific research in psychology. Homosexuality was considered a mental illness at that time. It was also illegal. You know that Nazis burnt books from trans clinic right? That a term is different than research? It’s not a coincidence that your timeline is full of bigots”
Arguing with idiots online is a waste of time, but I can’t help myself. It takes me 15 minutes to support my position, and he gets a pass with a one liner, then calls me a Nazi and a racist. You know you’re over the target when you start getting flak.

They are on a Holy Crusade, DM. I had a very similar debate with my family about homosexuality years ago. We were doomed the second we let those perverts out of the closet. I don’t argue with lefties anymore except for the odd insult or rude joke at their expense expense. We would be at war with these people if we had any sense.

The old moving the goal posts tactic? First, you have no studies then you do but your study is 45 years old so it can’t be right. Not even as advanced as “that study is 45 years old and was never replicated”, just that it’s old. Yeah, and Newton’s Laws are a few hundred years old. A valid observation doesn’t become invalid just because of its age.
When the “argument” turns to calling you a Nazi, consider it won.

Your commentator already has his mind made up, and would find or twist facts to fit.

Back when I was a kid, OK, 45 years ago I would have been about 8 years old, being gay or trans would NOT have been seen as something the cool kids are doing. How it came about that it is, I do not know other than to suspect it was an intentional push as part of the planned color revolution. Back then, just doing something remotely effeminate, let alone coming out of the closet, would have gotten you labeled a “fag” and earned you merciless ridicule.
Now, I am not in the camp of believing that homosexuality is a choice or a lifestyle; I believe that human sexuality is more of a spectrum with the majority being on the hetero end, some on the homo end, and then some spread across the middle, e.g. bisexual. Though little science has been done, it is thought to have something to do with the hormones you are exposed to while in utero. If you consider that we all start out the same and that it is exposure to hormones that causes the physical differences to manifest, this sounds like something possibly plausible.
What’s happening today, however, is that the concept is being pushed in our faces in an attempt to normalize it. For example, when was the last time you saw a TV commercial featuring a hetero white couple with white children? Point this out, point out the school indoctrination and say that you’re tired of having this crap shoved in your face (I don’t want anyone’s sexuality shoved in my face regardless of which way they swing) and the lefty libtards will simply call you names. As the other comment said, when you’re getting flak you know you’re over the target.

I have found that no matter what source, how many sources, the quality of sources, how reasoned, even the dreaded, stupifying consensus; your argument will be faulted as insufficient.
As a man seeking after Christ, and as a citizen, I feel that I have an obligation to others. Yet I have learned to not engage these people. If I were to speak to them, my only words are to tell them to get away from me. I have a booming voice and a serious look. It works for me.

I learned long ago that debating a Lefty is a waste of time.
They don’t care about facts, their opinions are based solely on emotions and you will NEVER change their opinion.
When they resort to ad hominems they are out of their few “facts” and you’ve won the argument but they will never admit it.
I respect you trying but it’s like banging your head into the wall “debating” these people.

Anyone familiar with the Bible will know this; it is referenced in several verses. It’s not that they won’t listen to facts and understand, they are not ABLE to do so…they have been blinded.
Zachariah 6:11-12, 2 Timothy 3:7, 2 Corinthians 4:3-6 …to name just a few.

The idiot’s reference to ‘Nazi’s burned books from a trans clinic’ is a reference to the regime’s destruction of Magnus Hirschfeld’s works, which were… how shall we say, problematic in the extreme? They were not clinical discussions of quirks in sexuality; Hirschfeld was just as bad as John Money.

What happened is you destroyed his argument, and he, realizing he lost the argument and therefore is now lacking moral authority, must attack your moral standing by hurling moral opprobrium at you, and regain his superior moral position. Literally nothing else matters at moments like that, as his entire sense of self worth revolves around his overly inflated sense of moral virtue.
Visions of the Anointed by Thomas Sowell is such a prescient book, it pegs far left pod person motivations perfectly.
This is why I no longer even acknowledge their standard morality attacks, I just say, “We weren’t talking about your morality, you degenerate pedo. When did you stop abusing five year old boys?” Let them defend their morality for a change.

So don’t do that.
