Five different people with what appear to be long rifles ambushed a family in Miami Gardens.
A quiet night was shattered by the rapid staccato of gunfire that police say created a “warzone” in a Miami Gardens neighborhood on Wednesday.
Being that Miami Gardens is referred to as “Murder Gardens” by locals and has a crime rate that is double the state’s average, it’s hard to think of that as a quiet area. It’s easy to guess the demographics of the area:
Miami Gardens has Florida’s largest percentage of blacks of any city in the state, with 71% of the city’s population being black. Only three percent of the city’s population is white. But that is just white people failing upwards, I guess.

And let us not forget, Miami Gardens was the home of one Trayvon Martin before he got his ass shipped to Sanford by his beloved mom who apparently was tired of his chicaneries.

I grew up near there, from 5th grade through HS graduation. By rough memory at the time, it was about 40% white, and the majority was split between black and Cuban. Moved out in 1973.
That was before LBJ’s “Great Society” destroyed the black family, back when blacks and whites had pretty much the same rate of births out of wedlock. It was starting to turn downhill but still had a long way to go.
Destroy the family and you pretty much destroy society.

Our company has done a good bit of work for a facility in Miami Gardens. My partner grew up in Hialeah and was well aware of the reputation, on par with Liberty City. Every night at the end of the work day we would hook up our tool trailer and tow it to the hotel, usually up around Davie, so it wouldn’t get stolen. The company itself kept their scrap metal dumpsters inside to keep the locals from cutting thru the fence to haul off a few $$ worth of scrap.The Mercedes dealership that opened 2 doors down the street has 24/7 armed security. Around once every couple weeks you would find spent cases littering the area at the nearby strip mall where there are a few restaurants/bars. One of the few areas in the country where I carry a back-up with my normal EDC.
