Some time in the next two weeks, the ATF will be switching over to a new online eform tracker, which they claim will speed processing of Forms 1 and 4. This should lessen the year long process for completing a suppressor transfer.

One can only hope it would speed things up, and also that it would work with trusts.

Of course, that leaves aside the question of why it takes a year vs. a few minutes OTC. Or, for that matter, the existence of the NFA at all… especially for what amounts to a piece of safety equipment.

Eform 1 has been around for years and it takes under a month. I’ve used it several times.
I’ll be glad to see the Eform 4, but I doubt it will be as fast; I bet they’ll all slow down.
The thing that undermines the whole process is that you can take and submit your own fingerprints…

Well, it does me no good on my current form 4, but hopefully it’ll help with the next one.
