Hollywood is trying to make excuses as to why the Gay Romantic Comedy “Bros” has a dismal opening weekend. The liberals in California and the critics (but I repeat myself) LOVED it:
I snuck in and sat in the back of a sold out theater playing BROS in LA. The audience howled with laughter start to finish, burst into applause at the end, and some were wiping away tears as they walked out
Most of America isn’t a hard core lefty crowd. While most soccer moms don’t mind gay people and enjoyed shows like Queer Eye or Will and Grace, they don’t want to watch movies about men having discussions about sucking each other’s dicks.
Even with glowing reviews, great Rotten Tomatoes scores, an A CinemaScore etc, straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, just didn’t show up for Bros
The movie had a budget of $22 million, and pulled in less than $5 million in its opening weekend. This means that the studio is unlikely to turn a profit on the film.

you would think by now the left would get the news that most of America doesn’t care about wokeness in any form… most conservative people don’t care if 2 guys have sex, we just don’t want to see it or hear about it… and we def aren’t going to shell out $10 for movie ticket to go watch it…

It wouldn’t have sold out a theater even in Frisco or West Hollywood. So that review was total fabrication.
This is like the spate of all the “American military is evil!” films that came out after 9/11, none of which turned any profits.
They’re burning dollars to score political points, but nobody’s paying any attention.
BTW: $22M to make, $5 box office?
Double the costs (PR costs as much as the movie) and halve the gross (because theater owners get half the take).
That’s how it actually works.
So $44M out, for $2.5M return. 6%.
94% burned up in smoke.
Epic failure.

Most movies are funded by investors; the studio only occasionally has any skin in the game.
I’d be interested to find out who funded this movie, and if they actually expected to make money…

It’s not very hard: they’re called executive producers.
They’re always “the money”.
If a studio is involved, they’ll be putting up a portion, or matching funds, and handling post-production, distribution, and publicity, in return for their cut of the pie, at a 1:1 fraction, i.e. 20% stake, they get 20% of the gross profit, i.e. return above production costs.
Net profits are always about 0%. Hollywood accounting.

With a -94% profit, some of these people won’t work in Hollywood again.
Others might get a second chance, someday, but almost nobody gets a third chance after two epic flops.

The truth is that most people are nauseated by faggots. Like you said, many like the campy stuff, but even soccer moms do not want to confront the reality of it. Make a movie targeted at 5% of the population and that’s what you get.

The Birdcage and In And Out argue things aren’t quite so black-and-white.
What they prove is people won’t see movies that suck under any circumstances, and that by all accounts, this movie definitely sucked.
For movies that are sucky and offensive, they haven’t got chance.

There is definitely a sag in the fag brag index. Normal, psychologically healthy people are tired of their overbearing bullshit being artificially forced into everything. And even the fag 1.0 contingent are now getting repulsed by and impatient with the trannies. There is a nascent movement among “standard” homos and pearl divers to kick the transfags out of the acronym and the movement.
Apparently there is a line that cannot be so easily crossed and still be assured of blind acceptance. The chopdicks are wearing out their welcome by endangering the socio political gains made by their very slightly less offensive forebears, and now the gloves and the doc martens are coming off and the bitch slappings will commence.
The infighting is going to be…spectacular, and as long as they go on destroying each other and stop bothering me, I’m good with that.
Oh, and a movie with a bunch of faggots in it? Heh. That’s a totally new concept. Only difference here is they aren’t trying to hide it by playing straight on screen.

I suffer from fag fatigue. Fags flaunting it in every aspect of life. Fag CEO’s down to fag marketing managers, pushing fag ways into TV, movies, commercials, pre-school through college to gaslight people into thinking fag life is mainstream, good, wholesome, and pervasive.
I won’t spend money or time on any fag endeavors. Their deviant behavior disgusts me. Tolerance has turned into a gun to the head to force you to bake a fag cake, then force you to eat it, then force you to smile and say how great it is.
