What a (bad) joke. However, this is typical of a local network affiliate now. Between the blatant advertising masquerading as news, and the constant turnover of amateur staff, it has fallen a long way, and has – in my estimation – not much left to go. There is no credibility or seriousness left in broadcast news. One of our local stations here – also a Fox affiliate – is so overrun with female staff I call it the nightly bitchcast, or the sorority report.
I don’t even watch it, but get second hand exposure (even worse than second hand smoke, because local news is trying to blow it up my ass) when I’m not at home, and it is brutal how cheap and unpolished the whole thing is compared to 40 years ago when I was a kid, despite the flashier graphics. Really, they were always full of shit, but they used to do a much better job of hiding it.
There are two takeaways from the fact it is now dominated by women. First, it is no longer a serious business, as real men don’t want to do it as it has become embarrassing to be associated with. It also pays poorly, save maybe for anchor positions in the big DMA’s
The second is that I can’t stand seeing and hearing it anymore, because the tone of the presentation (which is all propaganda to begin with) has taken on the quality of purse lipped school marms and scolds trying to tell me shit I don’t want to hear. I had enough of that from K-12, so I’m not interested in some attention whoring sugartits (hey look at ME, I’m on TV) fresh outta J school neophyte pestering me over the latest covid lies or other government approved/mandated bullshit read from a script right off her iPhone live on the air.

I watch two channels in the AM, local fox and local fake media affiliate, just for the weather. I mute/tune out everything else. Hey, it’s not my fault both channels have eye candy do the weather and traffic in the mornings. Good thing I’m not a prevert. ;-))

You’re lucky then. Next to nothing in eye candy here in our fair city. Maybe one I can think of who wouldn’t need a bag over her head, and that’s not saying much. Lots of resting bitch faces doing the field reporting, and the over the hill crowd staffing the anchor desk (I guess seniority has its privileges). Karens one and all.
Granted, I never see the morning shows at all, so maybe they put a better caliber of presstitutes up for those. 5, 6 and 10 are a wasteland of harpys and a few soy boys, with voices and attitudes even more repellent than their appearance. I’ve come to find it almost physically irritating to be in the presence of the TV when it’s on, especially the “news”.
