Perhaps a hybrid is more in order?

Just need to make it more like a cell phone.
Have a large concrete QR charging ‘mat’. Park your car on it, and it charges. Just ignore the eventual cancer you’ll probably get from using it.

    Ummm… No.

It’s the feed capacity, not the method of delivery, that’s the issue.

The part they didn’t talk about is that even if the people with level 2 charging were happy with that charge rate, if more than one of those chargers is on one of lowest distribution transformers it’s too much power for the electric network to provide. Those are the transformers that get down to one for about every four houses in a neighborhood.

To really go over to EVs replacing gasoline cars, we’d need to at least double the electric power generation and distribution on the national grid. It would be the biggest build out in history.

Never mind that the lead time on new step down transformers is something like 2 years.

Oh, and they’re not “Electric” vehicles. They’re “Coal-powered” vehicles. You get just as much (or more) pollution, but it’s somewhere else. *AND* the selfish bastards want purchase subsidies (poor people subsidizing rich people).

Rich liberals: dumb, selfish, and greedy.
