Fever finally broke at about 4 am. I woke up, covered in sweat to the point where my shirt and the sheets under me were soaked. Now I just have a bit of congestion and my body feels like I went a few rounds against a heavyweight boxer. Still, it’s an improvement…

This particular virus, whatever it is, is much worse than either of my two earlier bouts with COVID. I never had a fever with COVID when I had it before. Right now, we are seeing lots of cases of the Flu in the ED, more than we are COVID, and that may be what this is. Still can’t smell anything, but that may be due to the congestion and not the infection.

Back to bed…

Warm up some Brandy or Cognac and inhale that. Repeat then drink it.

Good to hear you’re feeling better. Has the rest of your family caught it? A couple of months ago I caught a lingering cough but my son didn’t, even though our house is quite small. (His following me around with a container of Lysol wipes may have had something to do with that.)

Sounds like the same thing that kicked my ass a couple of weeks ago (and is still nicking my energy level). Onset the afternoon before Thanksgiving, 103.8 fever and body aches. Took 2.5 days for the fever to subside (using ibuprofen to keep it down until then). No nausea, no noticeable impact of smell/taste. Awful dry mouth, and the most viscous mucous I can recall.

The drainage and resulting cough were an absolute bitch, and is still lingering now, though much reduced from it’s worst. It has left me completely wiped out, working half days and sleeping much more than usual.

I’m hearing about the same symptom profile (with the awful and lingering drainage being most notable) from many customers, neighbors, and others who got curb stomped by this bastard.

Covid (alpha) didn’t do me nearly this dirty, and my last outing with flu, while bad, didn’t last nearly this long in terms of symptoms hanging on for weeks. Whatever this is, it is one bad mutha.

All I can say is ease up on the grind and get yourself healthy.

since covid is related to the flu, does the hydro (can’t spell it and too lazy to look it up) and ivermectin do anything to help with flu symptoms?…was curious…

Glad you’re on the mend. Your symptoms, minus loss of taste/smell describes exactly what I had back in early 2020, especially the aching.

I had to re-read the first part though as I thought it said “My skirt and sheets….” and I was like, what?
