An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 just hit New Jersey at about 10:30 this morning. The center is in Readington Township, about 30 miles west of New York City. My brother in law, who lives about 80 miles north of the epicenter, said that it was enough to feel the walls shake in his apartment. He lives in a two story building and said the walls were shaking.

A friend of ours who is a banking executive in NYC said he thought that the furnace in the house had exploded.

I lived through a 5.1 quake in NE Ohio back when I was in middle school. It was very scary. First I heard this rumbling and thought someone was bringing the AV cart with the TV and VCR down the hall. Then don’t girls started screaming as the light fixture covers started popping open and the cinder block walls started to crack open in the corner. The worst part, though, was the pressure waves and it felt like an invisible hand kept hitting you and trying to push you back. Others said things like the basketball court floor in the gym had waves running through it water. Don’t care to repeat that experience.

I had a similar experience in New York in the 80s. It was early morning and I heard a bang, felt my bed move sideways and immediately assessed it as the Ramapo Fault hiccuping. People seem to forget the Northeast can have earthquakes.

There will be signs in the heavens and the earth starts to rumble.
How’s that New Madrid coming along and isn’t that insane to have the literally molten nuclear waste buried in Missouri.
Does Ivan still have a SARMAT pointed at Yellowstone?
Divided and Conquered will mean Arizona ocean front property and if your lover is behind the Mississippi, better go and visit.

Meh. Anything under 5 is just a fat chick falling down the stairs.
As long as NYFC is still standing, it was just a tease.

I don’t depend on much any more, but the ground standing still is right at the top of the list. LOL

Online says Trump’s golf course in the glorious peoples republic of NJ was the epicenter.
Oh wait…doesn’t that word usually apply to nuclear blast?
Just read Substack where Baltimore 911 dispatch says steering is out, now how would she know this?
Stupid and evil are siblings and we are neck deep in both.

Readingtom Twp is a few (3-4) miles west of the intersection of I-78 and I-287 highways.
Trump’s golf course in Beminster is a few (3-4) miles East/northeast of the highway intersection.
I am not familiar with the plate tectonics in NJ, but I find it highly unlinkely, and suspicious re: the location and timing.

Maybe the DEWs could only get as close as Readington. That area is either farmland or urban sprawl (beautiful highly wooded neighborhoods with at least a half acre of land around each home). Used to be full-on horse country.

I find it too much of a coincidence, ans think this “earthquake” is man made.
Call me crazy or a conspiracy theorist. That’s fine.
But given what all we know or can aaaume the gubmit is t telling us, I’d put my money on DEW was a warning.
