A local heathen got away with a tote full of heaters back in the day (1990’s) with an enter through the rooftop move.
Rural shops get raided all the time in Red State with some more than once.

No, they’re thieves. If you just want to avoid the background check, you can just build your own from 80%. This is something different.

Tru Dat. But they *do* generate a defacto registry, which I always assumed was the real intent.

A local gun shop got robbed several years ago here in pueblo colorado. I knew the guy who owned it. He said that the local cops took hours to arrive after the alarm went off. And they said there’s not much they can to help. After the owner reported the theft to the ATF sure enough they showed up right away. The ATF figured out to ask the next door car lot if they could check their camera’s for evidence. Yup they got the license plate number of the get away car. Ran it. Went over to the thief’s house and got every gun back plus more. Sometimes you get lucky.

Lots of stores have been hit by gangs using this technique recently. I’d assume the car was stolen.
This is why many gun stores have metal posts out front and other barriers to vehicles.
I also assume they only got long guns (rifles and shotguns) because the pistols were locked up additionally, probably in safes.
