A councilman of Napierville, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) is proposing a signup list for families to house illegal immigrants. The system is to be voluntary, for now.

Whenever I was confronted by people who wanted to feed and shelter homeless bums, I used to ask them how many bums were they hosting in their own homes. After all, if you aren’t willing to pay to house and feed the homeless in your own home, then how can you force me to do so (through taxes)?

Here is your chance, liberals. Do you really support sanctuary cities, or is that just part of the “not in my backyard” syndrome that allows you to virtue signal without skin in the game?

I think I read this in a Matthew Bracken book over a decade ago.

Love it. Your basice “Put up or SHUT up” statement. How many takers did he get?

Recently here, whilst a Realtor was shooting drone footage of a home that was ready to be listed, it was discoverd that a pretty extensive HOMELESS CAMP had been established on the property between our western wall, rt. 41 and the Pulix to the north.

Can YOU spell “Kerfuffle”?

I mean they even had a GENERATOR and a couple of solar panels set up there! The landowners (out of state) had NO clue. It took a bit to get the “Campers” to move on and sadly, the owners of the property had the rather formidable expense of “cleanup”.

These homeless campers also seemed to be quite the hoarders. They also were very adept at ensuring they were not at all visible from anywhere but above. Hence the drone spotting them.

Everyone here in our HOA was glad to see them go. Nobody was interested in housing them. Myself included truth be told. They’re not exactly the “Productive” type.

All the councilman /councilwomen need to lead by example. No excuses.

Used to be a holier-than-thou couple at a church we went to way back in the past. They had some money (I think inherited, not really sure) and a big house with a mother-in-law suite in the back yard. The husband, as part of his holier act, would bring homeless men there and house them, give them a job with his construction company, and brag about being just like Jesus. My wife and I just couldn’t believe he’d put his wife and young daughters at risk like that, given that he spent so much time away from home. And every Sunday he’d make comments about how the rest of us needed to live up to their example.

Over the years we’d hear stories about how a lot of them went back to drugs, wouldn’t work at all, went back to the streets, etc. No idea on if any were ever truly rehabilitated. We heard there was finally an incident where one of the homeless tried to break into the main house while just the wife and daughters were there. Luckily no one was hurt. Rumor has it she put her foot down and that stopped immediately. Shortly thereafter they quit our church. Just as well, I never could stand the bastard.

But yeah, apparently there are a few (very few) people who would sign up to house illegals just for the likes on social media, if nothing else.

“Our Gang” and “Little Rascals” would take a situation like this and the Leaders would say, “Hey Gang, let’s put on a show, we can help that way!”

Silly ideas, This is why we have the Third Amendment in the Bill of Rights…

I remember when Katrina hit NOLA and I was living in Texas. There was a call for volunteers to house some of the refugees. My wife and I talked about it and decided to help out. We assumed we could meet the people first and see what kind of people we were inviting into our home – oh no – You would be assigned a family and they would be brought to your house! We declined immediately. We later heard stories about people who did house them, came home from work one day and all their belongings (including furniture and appliances) were gone. This was from US citizens that were being helped – God only knows what an illegal would do!

Huh, I grew up near there (Joliet) and worked there up until I joined the Army (turns out they had to pay a lot more since no locals were working the “joe” jobs, even for what we peasants thought was great $)… At the time (90) I seem to remember Naperville being the richest municipality per capita in the country, and being in the shadow of Chicago solidly (D)… So, unsurprising that they’d try something like this, but forcing it? Guessing Hell will freeze over before that happens…

I lived next to Naperville for a decade. Nice small town look and feel. Really safe too especially at night. No way the citizens will go for that, they see what Chiraq looks like.

I was going to mention the 3rd Amendment, but that only applies to soldiers….

I heard that guy on the radio this AM. He’s a conservative. He was doing it to make light of all the leftists that support this shit but don’t put money into mouth. His list is empty still.

I have also seen an article (didn’t save it) where similar commie/libtards were talking about Imposing an “Empty Room Tax” on Homeowners, to ‘encourage’ them to take in Homeless Bums/ Illegal Aliens. Interestingly, that is most likely to impact owners of those 10,000 SF
“Mc Mansions” with 8 Bedrooms, 7 Baths and often a full ‘mother-in-law’ suite in the Basement. It would be interesting to see that happen, as those are the people Least Likely to want to Go Along with sh*t like that.
