Hate Crime

Considering that the country known as America is over (only a dysfunctional shell of an economic zone cobbled together from disparate and ever battling cultural contingents, held together by sheer force remains) then the significance of the red white and blue has pretty well expired along with it. I realize many still have an emotional attachment to the flag, and what it (at least was supposed to) represent. But it is just a symbol. In time, most will throw in the towel on that too, once the full gravity of what has occurred becomes clear to them.

Since the 50 present states will probably not remain intact as a single political entity, the flag will no longer be relevant in representing that either. Plenty of countries large and small have had new governments and new flags in my lifetime so far, so it is not at all unthinkable that the same will play out on the North American continent. Most just aren’t ready to accept that yet. I won’t bother postulating on what will take it’s place, since there is far too much uncertainty on what is to transpire, and a lot of smoke to clear before the formation of new political subdivisions can ever take place.
