The ATF has sent a notice to gun dealers in the vicinity of the Mexican border.
Law enforcement is advising Federal Firearms Licensees of expanding interest of criminal networks’ intention to utilize straw purchasers in acquiring large caliber firearms such as .50 caliber and/or belt fed rifles within the next 60 days. This activity is anticipated to occur throughout the entire State of Texas. Please contact your local ATF office if any suspicious, attempted or finalized purchases occur.

They will round up the shipping containers full of weapons scattered around the country by various Trojan horses?

I’m somewhat surprised they haven’t tried to ban or limit belt fed semi autos somehow…
I’m not sure what their justification would be, but that usually doesn’t worry them.
My current assumption is that there are so few belt fed out there it’s a low priority for them.

even tx knows there is basically a new town springing up with nothing but illegals, most of them being part of the cartel…they may be looking to buy weapons…it’s down south somewhere…but yeah, i would bet they try to ban the .50 soon…

Cartels that make a living via smuggling out drugs, have no problem smuggling in guns. The ATF must be planning another boondoggle case for OT pay.

What Woody said. The cartels run Mexico and they can import any guns they want from China without any interference whatsoever. Furthermore, since the wide open border is the most profitable thing they’ve done since ever, they’re running our side of the border as well – by logical extension until proven otherwise.
The ATF is planning on either sticking a bunch of people who might want to buy a 50 cal for any reason whatsoever or instigating whatever they can.
