Officer Ruben Ruiz, whose wife was one of the teachers killed at Uvalde is seen in the video holding his phone. We are supposed to feel sorry for him because his wife is dead.
I would, except even after his wife died, he still lied to make his own cowardly ass look like a victim. He claims that he attempted to enter the classroom to save his wife, but had his gun taken away and was physically held down and escorted from the scene. Does this look like someone who had his gun taken away?
So maybe they took his gun later, but does that matter? This was in the early stages of the shooting. His wife was probably still alive at this point.

The demoralized FUSA is considered conquered territory and we are expected to act like eunuchs.
I’ll have to pass on that and we are on our own with no cavalry coming is a feature and not a bug.

He takes CYA to whole new level. I pray his wife is safely in the hands of God. Knowing it’s a sin, I hope Satan bends him over and teaches him the lesson he so richly deserves.

There were 21 reasons to ignore bad orders that day. EVERY officer failed to do the right thing.
Those reasons are now buried, and so far no officer has been disciplined other than a LT suspended.
I can’t imagine what those families talk about.

Can’t understand why no one thought to ignore orders and do the right thing. They should all be criminally charged. Failure to perform their duty? Something. I’ll bet civil lawsuits will be coming soon, and Uvalde is gonna go bankrupt.

There’s a question that puzzles me. What WERE those orders?
See, here’s the thing: in the wake of Columbine, police procedure regarding mass shooters changed from ‘contain’ to ‘assault’. As in, go find the bad guy and take him down because lives are at stake.
This came up after Parkland, and it turned out no, the BCSO was NOT training to ‘take the fight to the enemy’.
So either Uvalde’s police department was not trained on appropriate, accepted procedure… or they were being told not to enter despite their training.
Neither option is particularly cheering to me.

Several reports stated that the Uvalde PD had undergone active shooter training just several months prior to this event.
