I doubt there is anything sexual about this – but I suspect it is cultural.
There are people from many developing nation’s who can’t be bothered to use a bathroom.
I’ve read some nasty stories about dorms of foreign students at US colleges (and military barracks) where they use hallways, stairwells, and room corners for both #1 and #2 – and many of these institutions costs 10s to 100s of thousands per year. Unfortunately it’s not just a poor people thing!
