When leftist protesters breach the fence around SCOTUS during their protests over abortion, will we see 30,000 armed troops deployed? Will those breaching the fence be called insurrectionists? Will they be held without bail for over a year, awaiting a trial that never seems to come? Will it be called a “threat to our Democracy?” Will they be charged with intent to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business?

I think we all know the answers.

Will the person who leaked the document face that? I think we all know the answer to that, too.

That person committed an insurrection. I’ve heard legal scholars since it happened saying the supreme court may have just been destroyed as an institution. For the first time in history, the walls have been broken down.

Just keeping them from ever practicing law doesn’t seem to fit the crime. They’ll have a TV show on MSNBC or some drivel within a year.

No, No, No, No, and No.

We all know that the shits involved in the present insurrection have been given a teflon coating by the DOJ. Nothing remotely surprising about that. The supreme joke was already done as an instituion, since decisions like Marbury vs Madison and roberts twisting of oscamacare to make it “legal” have been allowed to stand. That it took half a century to shoot down roe – maybe, it is not yet an accomplished fact – is an embarrassment to the court.

If the verdict is wrong now, as Alito wrote, then it was wrong the instant the original decision was handed down. And yet it remained the law of the land for 50 years. Yeah, the gang of 9 sure is effective at properly reading the constitution and administering justice.

There will now be an especially urgent and violent movement to try and force the remaking of the court, either by packing, or some other underhanded executive or legislative tactic. Or maybe they’ll just start killing judges they don’t agree with.

As a country, I get the feeling we are just about ready to start with public exections of political figures who run afoul of popular sentiment. For much of the population, there is no patience left for working the system to get things done. They are all Veruca Salt, they want it all NOW.

Consider that a ministry of truth was just formed by mere executive fiat, so following any rules that constrain their conduct is not even remotely a concern for these assholes. They want what they want, and will declare it so, not caring to be burdened by archaic procedural requirements. The supremes will now find their precious institution at the center of a firestorm like they’ve never seen before.

And really, I have no fucks to give them. The institution has done this to itself by becoming openly politicized, and by not effectively policing and correcting it’s bad decisions promptly. Competence matters, and failing to demonstrate it has consequences, as has suddenly become uncomfortably obvious.
