During the struggle, the pedestrian was able to access a taser he had in his possession and used it against the officer. The officer then shot him in self defense.
Don’t point a weapon that looks like a handgun at a cop a person armed with a firearm, and you won’t get shot.

Looks like a good shoot to me.
When you fight with cops and point weapons at them, you can expect to be shot dead. Not a difficult concept for anyone to understand.
The usual scum politicians are criticizing. the officer response. They should be removed from their positions. Enough of this race-baiting crap already!

It all depends on the context.
Like was the officer wrestling with the guy because he crumpled up his speeding ticket and told the officer to “kiss my ass”, so the officer yarded him out of the car to deliver an ass whooping?
If so, I’m not on the side of the officer…just like I wouldn’t be on your side if you did this to some random driver.
If the officer just caught a pedophile, sure, I’ll back him 100%.

I think that’s better reasoning than “What’s that he is pointing at the cop?”.
I don’t care what he’s pointing at the cop.
I care if he was doing something that harmed others and deprived them of their rights, or if he was doing something that damaged property.
If so, government should be allowed to intervene. If not, government gets whatever’s coming to them.

Local news station, rather than showing the full unaltered video, is editing it to slant coverage, and misstating deliberately that the officer walked up to a guy on the ground with his gun out, which wasn’t the case at all, and they KNEW it wasn’t.
Fucking shameless bald-faced liars, throwing dynamite into the outhouse just to watch the shit fly.
Once you state the actual circumstances:
“Batshit-crazy homeless man is wandering in freeway traffic, multiple 911 calls come in, so CHP stops all freeway traffic and approaches him. He refuses to walk off freeway when contacted by CHP, gets in scuffle with the officer which goes to the ground, pulls CHP officer’s taser off his duty belt in the scuffle, tries to shoot CHP officer with that taser, and gets blown away for his serial insanity.”
it becomes a very different topic.
The question becomes “Why didn’t they save time, run his ass over from the get-go, and take whatever was left to the ER, followed by the psych ward, if he survived?”
Putting an officer through the wringer over this, and trying to call it “questionable” is bullshit of the highest magnitude.
Instead of detailing dead batshit crazy dude’s numerous mental issues, and telling the unwhitewashed truth of what occurred, local newspaper calls article him an “aspiring actor”.
