The Libertarians have selected Chase Oliver as their Presidential candidate: a left-leaning, Liberal member of the LGTBQ+ club.
To boot, he supports the Biden policy of bringing people from Gaza to the US.
No thanks. This entire campaign is a way to let Dems who want to own guns and gay left leaning Republicans someone to vote for.
While I have frequently had problems with the Libertarian party, I agreed (or used to) with many of their ideas and principles. Now that I am seeing footage from their national convention, I just can’t anymore.

I will always believe in the core principles of libertarianism which basically amount to “If I haven’t harmed anyone or damaged anyone’s property, leave me the fuck alone”…but the LP has been corrupted by the mentally insane just like every other party out there.
Same with unions. I will always support the right of individuals to come together to say “we will not work for you anymore unless you fix unsafe condition X or pay us Y”…but the big unions are all corrupt as hell and companies aren’t allowed to exercise a similar freedom to say “Fine. You’re all fired. We’ll hire other people who are willing to do dangerous job X for less than Y pay”.

You can always fire your workers and replace them by closing the plant and moving overseas. The local textile mills told their workers, if you Unionize we’ll sellout to someone who’ll move the mill to China. The Union won and the jobs left. The city tried to attract investors and jobs by turning the old buildings into a research park. That didn’t work. The new scheme involves building a AA Baseball stadium downtown surrounded by apartments for yuppies and BBQ and Breweries. It’s working out like you’d expect.
All of the displaced textile workers ended up without job prospects.

I always wondered what the LPUSA platform would be after pot was mostly legal. Never thought they’d turn to Sodomy and Transmania.

Yea, its sure not the old common sense live and let live LP anymore. They lost me a few years ago after a presidential candidate stripped on stage.
Can hardly wait for the Gazans to get here to see how that” Queers for Palestine” works out.

I’d actually think that this is a very good thing. It’s hard to imagine that left leaning members of LP would now vote for Biden. In fact, some left-left leaning members of DP might now decide to vote libertarian in November. On the other hand it is hard to imagine right leaning members of LP to vote for anyone other than Trump, even if they did not anticipate to vote for him before this. No, this is definitely a good thing.

LPUSA has been largely coopted by lunatics. It’s just too hard to take them seriously. The last good presidential candidates they backed were Ron Paul in 1988 and Harry Browne in 1996 and 2000.
