Fast food workers are shocked when the restaurant where they work closes its doors on the day California’s $20 per hour minimum wage for fast food takes effect.

If only someone had warned them…

“If only someone had warned them…”

Some time ago, I flat out stopped arguing about that because I’m sick and tired of always being right but never being listened to. Hasn’t that hit you yet? Or am I the only one?

Every single time this comes up we point out the inevitable bad things that will follow, and that the people who it’s supposed to help will be hurt the most. The new min.wage gets passed and all those bad things happen, yet they think the answer is “do it again, only harder.”

The real minimum wage is $0.

Thomas Sowell

There is only one way to regard a minimum wage law:
it is compulsory unemployment, period.

Economist Murray Rothbard

A problem identified and then tackled
by a liberal is a greater problem created.

This is just watching the guy who jumps off the cliff, all the way to impact, and then watching the body bounce a couple of times before finally coming to rest.

Personally, every time someone gets fired over this, or another business closes, I cheer.
Because either it flips the state red again, or it kicks the biggest morons right in the balls the hardest, which couldn’t happen to more deserving victims, and all of this hastens the day when the whole socialist enterprise collapses in flames and explosions.

Huzzah! MOAR!! Bring. It. On.

Yeah, COVID and the injectable joker jizz pretty well cured me of trying to get dumbasses to understand they were being dumbasses, and that they should listen to someone whose knowledge and intuition (even if it wasn’t me) would protect them against making bad decisions. No more.

Now I just figure “fuck ’em”, I don’t have the time or patience to try and convince idiots they are wrong, much less bring them around. The only real disappointment is that I have a couple of immediate family members who fell for the shit shot thing, and also continue to at least half-heartedly believe the official narrative on Ukraine (and I’m biding my time on that so that I can unload a giant, steaming “I told you so” once the US flakes out on that thoroughly fubar’d situation and the true costs and consequences become better known).

As it stands anymore, if they make the mistake of saying something stupid in my presence (this generally being done in the context of their knowingly trying to tweak me), I mock their asses mercilessly instead of attempting debate. Has put me on the proverbial shit list, but I’ve spent most of my life there anyway, so it feels like home. Sometimes just being right has to be its own reward, even when I have to watch people I actually care about dick punch themselves and still not learn. Nobody has dropped dead yet, but I’ve just had to accept that is a high probability occurrence, from their ill advised positions on “fauci’s big fuck you”.

It is much the same with any other politically tinged position espoused by the herd. There is no point anymore in attempting to reach the unreachable. Can a few minds be changed? Yeah, probably so. Do I have the inclination to go on trying? Naw, I’m just covering my own ass now, with the expectation it gives me a slightly better chance of surviving what is coming. Anyone not of like mind – family included – is pretty well expendable. Reason being is that they will sell me out and fuck me over before they abandon the stupid beliefs their egos won’t allow them to cut loose, just as easily as any stranger I happen to challenge once things get spicy. And reality will be a more convincing (if brutal) teacher than I, even if the lessons taught are fatal.

Yea, no one gets that the business with less than the 60 locations wont be able to pay the $20/hr rate either that new hires will ask for since they will get it elsewhere so those business will have to pay it and raise prices that will chase off the customers or close. Why any smaller business’s are still in Cali baffles me.

Still say, use the Atlas shrugged model, just so no. I wont play anymore and wont be a builder or a creator or a tax payer, I will be a consumer only now so pay me welfare also.
