Police in Florida are going door to door looking for a cop killer. That includes ATF agents searching people’s homes. I understand that they want to catch a dangerous man, but it will be a cold day in hell before I voluntarily allow one of those murderous cocksuckers from the ATF into my house.
The same goes for any cops. There is no criminal fugitive in here, I am not being held hostage. Now piss off.

And just like that…you and your dog get shot and your house mysteriously burns down. This is the atf we’re talking about after all. Their “request” to search your home is nothing of the sort, it’s a demand couched in less forceful language. It isn’t right and it isn’t legal, but it’s how they roll.
See Boston, post marathon bombing. Also note that once again the fbi were given advanced warning of the perps and their intent – by Putin’s Russia no less – and they fucked right off by flatly ignoring the graciously provided intel, and allowed the plan to proceed.
Ultimately this conduct on the part of the atf and other cop shops, if it becomes too routine, will unwittingly multiply the number of cop killers because some guys will implicitly understand that once the bogus “request” to search is made – irrespective of probabe cause, or complete lack thereof – they are fucked by either compliance or refusal, and may as well go out in a blaze of glory.
Of course, the badged pork bellies will come to expect that outcome if it starts happening on the regular. The natural adaptation to which will be for them to just start doing more warrantless flash bang sneak attacks at 3am, as they have enjoyed doing for a long time already. Escalation is a bitch, especially when both sides in a conflict have figured out they’ve nothing left to lose and thereby totally remove the limiters on their respective thirst for retribution.
Everything I see from govt now causes me to expect it will increasingly go down exactly that trajectory. These self important tossers just don’t know when to stop doubling down with the persecution and overstepping of authority, not that they recognize any limits on their power to begin with. They positively thirve on being adverserial and (almost) never having to suffer any consequences for it.
They also appear to truly believe they’ve got this. And they will, right up until suddenly one day the resentment towards them from the public at large grows so great that they won’t have it anynore. Then they’ll get turned into burnt offerings, and piss and moan about why they are being targeted. Imagine that. Even a school yard bully eventually gets the richly deserved ass beating that forces him to stop being a prick (or otherwise keep getting his ass beat).
Barring a large scale trend of these sociopaths finding their conscience (ha) and suddenly backing off their ever deteriorating respect for the law and tendency to abuse the public, as they’ve done for decades now, it appears the most unpalatable sort of conflict is now inevitable.
Regrettably, some lessons must be learned the hardest and most painful way. We stand on the precipice of many such lessons being taught with particular brutality. And maybe it always had to be this way. When a monster grows too large to tame or control, it ends up having to be slayed simply to bring its wonton destructiveness to an end.

Once, we did let the local PD into our house and yard to look for a car thief…
…but only because the thief had ditched the stolen car right in my damn driveway…
The cops were as professional as possible, no complaints, really.
