For decades, Democrats have claimed that the Second Amendment refers to the state militia which they allege to be the National Guard.
If this is indeed the case, then Congress can’t dictate how that militia is funded.

It is OK for the feds to pay and equip enemy armies to attack the US but not OK for citizens to pay to protect Americans.
The stupidity is astounding.

It looks to me like you expect consistency from Democrats… They do whatever suits them, whenever it suits them.
And since the Guard and Reserves are both federally connected, they aren’t a militia – by the Democrats standards, that would be State Defense Forces, which have no Federal purview or control.
