A father was denied access by his wife to the delivery room for the birth of his own child, so instead of sitting around in the waiting room, he went home. The wife is now angry about it and is refusing to even speak to him. I agree. There is a high likelihood that I would instead have gone to a divorce attorney.
There are many women who do this- they act as if the child is theirs and theirs alone, until it comes time to pay the bills, then all of a sudden its OUR child. The whole statement of “it’s the decision she has made and you have to respect that” is bullshit. This is just another example of the war on heterosexual men.
There are hospitals that don’t give anyone a choice– no one is allowed in the delivery room except the mother.
The courts have backed this sort of behavior- on the one hand, the courts have said that mothers can ban fathers from the delivery room, but when it comes time for child support, then it is “pay up, buddy. Didn’t you know that it takes two to have a child?”
Here is my answer- you want the hospital bill paid? The person in the delivery room is the one paying it. That wasn’t me in there, so that isn’t my problem.

I’m guessing their problems pre-existed the hospital. She was just being spiteful and controlling. After all, there is some truth behind stereotypes. In this case, the “C” word.

And you can guarantee that she’ll pull the same shit or worse when they divorce. Were it me, even if I stayed with her, that would be the only child I fathered with her.

She had to make sure that “dad” and “baby” had complimentary skin tone first.
If the dude is smart he’ll take the kid in for a paternity test ASAP, then have a good lawyer remove his name from the birth certificate (if possible) as soon as the test results come back. I’d bet an entire months worth of income that she’s cheating. Her mom & sister we’re in the delivery room but he wasn’t? I can already tell you that’s a big ball of crazy he doesn’t want any part of. And probably enough infidelity on her end that it would turn your stomach to contemplate the sheer number of random guys that contributed to the sperm milkshake that kid eventually spawned from. Run far, run fast.

This sort of thing continues into the divorce and after. As the paying parent if you are late on child support there are dozens of ways she can punish you. You can be arrested and serve to jail, have your wages garnished, have your driver’s license pulled out restricted.
She decides that she doesn’t want you to have the kids for that long weekend where you and the kids made plans $$$, she just doesn’t take the kids over.
Even with paperwork no cop is going to enforce your rights, they’ll tell you to take it to the judge. So two weeks later, lawyer fees later, the judge says “bad mother” and that’s it, till the next time she does it.
