Congress wants to pass a law requiring that SCOTUS adopt a code of conduct. I don’t think this is Constitutional. Any rules for SCOTUS would be in Article III of the Constitution, and there is nothing there granting Congress authority over the Supreme Court. If they want to do this, an Amendment would be required.
It will be interesting to see how SCOTUS reacts to this. The left wants badly to bring this court to heel, or even impeach a justice or two.

I don’t think our elected have any idea about the Constitution or what it contains. For example, the USSC recently ruled that the abortion laws in this country are not the purview of the federal government, but rather, a state issue. Yet federal officials are still clamoring for a federal law allowing it.

I think the senate and congress need to clean their own house first.

It’s quite telling that no serious run has been made at a constitutional amendment since the piece of shit ERA that went down in flames in the late 70’s. Or was it very early 80’s? I’m not looking it up in any case.
The busy body tyrants know the shit-tier rules they really want codified into law are far too unpopular, despite all their efforts at perception management, to get over that bar. And why would they bother, when the can decree any fucking thing they want legislatively or even executively, and usually end up with defacto enforcement of it for years unless and until a court – might – strike it down.
We are now at the stage where court rulings will be outright ignored anyway, as that is being openly advocated for anytime the left gets a ruling against their interests. The law now is simply what they say it is.
All of which is a waste of my breath anyway, since where we are going, the supreme court and all other trappings of the radioactive landfill fire that presently calls itself government will be irrelevant soon enough. The whole rotten edifice has outlived it’s functional lifespan. Now it has to burn down and be replaced with something else, as there is no salvaging it.

I’ve yet to read about a federal judge appointee being able to explain any part of the Constitution. And Rinos keep voting to help put the evilfuckingfascistic appointees into place.

Comrade Lefty moving in on one of the last things to march through and destroy.
Stick around for the reset and wailing and gnashing as no egalitarian utopia is anywhere in sight.
Utopia is for the controllers depopulated playground and the low born aren’t invited.
