Hamas released a video of their rifle making process.

This is why gun laws don’t work. These guys are making rifles with basic machine shop tools. Now imagine what you can do with a CNC machine.

Lol at some of that video. Reloading a 50BMG round (or whatever combloc equivalent) for sniper use, using the scoop method.

Looks like a slick motivational video though to give the impression that they’re making weapons out of the trash and crap around gaza. 50 cal FMJ bullets, smokeless powder (made consistently enough that you don’t blow your face off with a reload that was too hot due to batch variations) and quality optics are coming from somewhere else and probably haven’t been brought in for several months now. Props to the video I suppose for making them seem mighty as possible but they’re still unclean heathen goathumpers who celebrate the torture and killing of the helpless. Fuck them.

Missing the entire point of me posting the video, which is this: If those guys can make those guns with those tools, what could Americans with CNC machines like the Ghost Gunner do?
Ammo isn’t a problem. Every cop in America is driving around with a couple of dozen rounds in his car.

Fair enough. But I’d use the Luty as a better example of homemade guns and BFYTW gun control can’t work. This hamas video I don’t think is really video of them making stuff, it’s a video making it look like they make stuff.

This is exactly what American Patriots should be doing.

As a propaganda vid, its good and true on so many levels. But I would bet if you lifted that green tarp in back, you would see a room full of crates and crates of fully setup weapons marked US Govt and addressed to Ukraine or Palestinian Authority.

Ian did a rundown of what he sees: https://youtu.be/DRcVRLtde6c

Tl/didn’t watch? Ascribe the same authority as Hamas’ body counts. Some truth, mostly exaggeration. There’s likely better cost/benefit ratio in building rockets and bases under schools and hospitals than precision rifles.

Decent recruiting commercial though.

According to Ian at Forgotten Weapons, this is all propaganda.
They have complete AM-50’s that they disassembled and put back together for the video.

Home built firearms have only been around since forever. Any fairly competent machinist with a lathe and a milling machine can build anything you need. Hell, you can do many of your own simple builds with common hand/power tools.

In the late 60’s we used to make our own “machine guns” from a .22 Remington 66. File off one sear and presto. Yes it would fire until either the tube was empty or it jammed, but they were fun. And you could get a brick of .22 longs for about $2-$3 so they were cheap fun.

Being as that is totally illegal, I certainly wouldn’t do that today.

Southfront.org had a Vid some weeks ago that showed another “Basement Weapons Shop” making and assembling Duplex-Charge Anti-Tank Rockets for standard RPG Launchers. Those have been responsible for more than (so far) a Hundred IOF Tanks and APC’s.

Those RPG Launchers are still available on the ‘surplus’ market, might not be a bad Idea to have one in the Closet….

While I agree competent people can make a lot of things this particular vid was debunked as follows and anyone that understands any machining or lathes would see though it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRcVRLtde6c

Your original intent of this post reminded me to look at “Gun Maker’s Match”. I think there are a number of them around now, I saw a tv episode (Michael Bane’s old “Shooting Gallery” I think) with Rob Pincus running one up near St. Augustine. May have to check that out. Less as a match to go shoot and more as a shooting activity to check out what homemade gunmakers have been doing.

A couple years ago when everyone was out buying their 9th AR pattern setup I traded crypto until I could buy a J-head mill and a nice lathe, both with plenty of indexable tooling. An associate, who graduated from a prestigous gunsmithing school in this state and worked at Ruger recently asked me if he could come over and finish some 80% lowers. “Do you have radios and 3 months of food set up?” “No.” “Then stop playing around and get your crap in order. However if you bring over a block of 6061 I’ll let you start on a 0% lower.” No reply.

Can those clowns in that video fab weapons? Sure they can. Are they? Probably not especially with CNC Arabic put on the side using a ball endmill.
