they have shot themselves in the foot…it started with the blm/antifa riots…not doing a damn thing…as a whole, they could have done their job…no police chief with 2 brain cells would fire the entire force…same for this crap going on now…all they done is show those they are supposed to protect how well they can follow orders…you reap what you sow…

Good, fuck the police. We keep being told there are good ones. If that were remotely true, they would willingly give up the bad ones for easy prosecution over the abuses they’re guilty of.

But still they stick together like fies and shit. They also wilingly and knowingly chose a profession where they knew this was the (unspoken) rule, so I accept no excuses about not wanting to sacrifice their careers once they are in for a few years. They had full knowledge of how cops are expected to operate before entering the academy, it’s no secret. And if they didn’t, they are too stupid to be trusted to do the job anyway. Chose a job that doesn’t require one to consider committing massive ethical violations – including tacit protection of other cops who do the same – on a daily basis. I did, and thus can live with myself, look in the mirror without puking, and can even usually sleep well enough at night.

“Oh, but they can’t break ranks or no other cop will ever trust them again.” Bullshit, no DIRTY cop will ever trust them again. And if there is that much concern over retribution from dirty cops, then there must be a lot of them stinking up the ranks, further proving my distrust of them is well founded.

In any case, the damage is long since done. I – and many others – will never trust a cop again, and I haven’t even been particularly targeted by their most egregious offenses. I’ve simply observed how they operate and the things they do over ~50 years, and am wholly unimpressed with what I’ve seen. Current events in Canada, and recently in Australia and NZ, are as vividly instructive of their true nature as any I’ve seen here.

What really surprises me, however, is that they can still successfully recruit so many white men for the job. After seeing white men working as cops repeatedly thrown to the wolves because some hood rat dindu ended up dead (St. Michael of the cigarillos, the gentle giant of Ferguson and St. Fentanyl Floyd of minnedishu, quite notably) it mystifies me how these guys can take the job, knowing the risk that any day they have a bad interaction with a melanin enhanced shit disturber, their life can be instantly and irrevocably screwed.

And still they sign up for a shot at the booby prize. Dieversity candidates, meanwhile, happily sign up for the job since they can then target whitey for oppression and abuse under color of law, and almost certainly get away with it.

I could read that a couple of ways. Am I missing an implied /sarc tag there, or not? They are certainly working to reveal the nature of the enemy in full frontal technicolor. And they are supplying martyrs who will further turn public sentiment at large against the enemy. So, they are working in one sense.

As to achieving their primary stated goal of killing off the shot mandate at the federal level (provincial rollbacks notwithstanding) not so much. Yet, anyway.

Meanwhile, much collateral damage is being taken, with no assurance they will get that done for their suffering, which I suspect is just beginning. I have to respect those who are putting their asses on the line here. They are the real deal, and some will become the revered names of historical accounts somewhere down the line.

But, the beast calling itself govt has an insatiable appetite for destruction, and is a nasty, vindictive bitch.

The sarc tag was implied. You make very valid points, and no one should discount the folks putting it on the line. There will have to come a point where either the government admits it is wrong or the protests have to change direction. Wars are not won by martyrs, but the tales around the campfires are enthralling.

And I concur with your points. It is sickening that all the foreplay has to be gone through first, but it appears most are not as impatient as I am, and are unwilling to go straight to the part that we who know, has to come. Loss of popular support and govt claims on legitimacy are apparently an accomplished fact only upon the righteous first incurring lots of damage.

This drives the masses to finally reassess their support of a monstrous, cancer ridden perversion of govt, paving the way for its demise. In the interim, many good people will be destroyed because of the reticence of a stupid, lazy and fearful citizenry, who must feel the threat viscerally, before they can be convinced of the need for a serious shakeup that will, of neccessity, entail lots of brutality. The method of overcoming normalcy bias and societal inertia is a blood sport of the worst kind.

I share your impatience, brother. I just wish we could avoid all the suffering involved in the “foreplay”. But I suppose it is a part of the hardening, the tempering. Not everyone sees the end path so easily. They think the suffering is bad now….
