From the male cops perspective, this was a good shoot.

The female cop in this incident just stood there watching. Had she deployed her Taser, there is a chance that the male cop wouldn’t have had to use his handgun. What followed was 40% her fault and 60% suicide by cop. There are those who would disagree, but they would be wrong. Sure, the woman initiated the incident by coming at the police with a lethal weapon in her hand. That’s on her. However, the cops are supposed to be trained and equipped to deal with these sorts of things. The fact that the female cop didn’t even TRY to deploy or even DRAW her Taser, deprived this woman of her only chance at not getting shot, and for that reason, the female cop is partly at fault. .

Still, there are morons in the comments claiming that the cops didn’t have to shoot her, claiming that instead they could have used a Taser, fired warning shots, or (I am not kidding) shot the knife out of her hand. For Christ’s sake, these people are fucking morons and they vote.

That HAD to be suicide by cop.
Who keeps coming with a knife at a cop with a drawn pistol ? He backs up and she keeps coming. She wanted to die and there was nothing else the male cop could have done. The male cop told the female cop to go non lethal so she should have had her taser out and ready to go. Still in the end, this was caused by the woman with the knife and her death is 100% on her. At any time she could have dropped the knife and stopped advancing on the male cop.

Had the female at least ATTEMPTED to do the job that she is trained, equipped, and PAID to do, I would agree with you. Failing to even try tells me that the money spent by taxpayers to train, equip, and pay her was completely wasted. She can’t even say that she tried. THAT is why part of this shooting is her fault.

License should be revoked to ever practice law enforcement again, Jesus!
He even said to her as they were approaching, “you go non-lethal.” I’m not a cop, and I understand that meant “Hey Jill, you get your taser ready and I’ll try to draw her attention with my pistol.” Then as the victim is approaching the male cop, he tells her to deploy her taser, and she’s fumbling with her belt….
Good Gawd. That’s complete incompetence. Kudo’s to the shooter for not bitching her out immediately afterwards, he knows he’s on camera… Thin blue line in action. I would have been up and down her ass for just standing there.
You are never in more danger than when the police are around.

Her brain clearly was overwhelmed with dissonance and switched off. Even afterwards, had to be told what to do, and did so poorly. Even continued to walk calmly towards a lethal threat after the male had completed at least two OODA cycles.

Cut and dried: Fire that worthless bitch. She’s a hazard to every other officer on the force.

The other officer told her to “go non-lethal”, and she made no attempt to do anything but be a spectator even as the guy had already drawn his weapon.

The family of the decedent should also be given carte blanche to sue the fired female officer, with the city revoking any qualified immunity on her behalf for cause.

The Worthless One with the pony tail will soon be promoted to Sargent…probably while on light duty from Sumdood kicking her ass.
Her pension will be boosted by the increase in pay and will go on permanent disability retirement when she logs in enough years to cash out riding a desk.
But they’re all equally qualified and shit.

the taser is a great tool but it doesn’t always work…not sure why they didn’t have a bean bag shotgun if they knew they were dealing with a person with a knife…someone should always have lethal and another with non-lethal in something like this…the female officer should have had her taser in her hand from the parked car…you can hide it behind your back…she was also in a pretty shitty position to begin with…the knife girl could have changed course and stabbed the female officer before she knew what happened…she had terrible tactics…i never counted on any female officer when shit went south…hell, i didn’t count on half our officers…

    Beans · December 12, 2023 at 10:15 pm

Bean Bag shotguns work about as often as Tasers, something around 60-70% of the time. Size and body composition has some correlation to effectiveness, but so does levels of mental instability.

Seriously, a small skinny crazy person is much harder to less-than-lethal takedown than a professional football player who is totally sane.

Insanity does something to the pain response. Weird stuff happens.

And the woman? All the signs of crazyness, temporarily maybe, but crazy as crazy can be.

Beans · December 12, 2023 at 10:16 pm

Ponytail cop could have sideswiped her. Or tasered her.

What she almost did was she almost got male cop stabbed because she was moving behind the suspect. A big no-no as that almost interfered with the male cop shooting.

    Rick · December 13, 2023 at 8:03 pm

Ponytail also sandwhiched herself between armed, defiant perp and parked vehicle. At 3 yards or so. Vehicle at her back, if she had to scramble, she’d likely falter and be overtaken by perp. Male cop then may not have clear shot, at longer distance, with residential building as back drop. Would perp no upgrade to taser or firearm?

Ponytail made too many mistakes. Primacy of learning was unavailable here.

This is why every patrol car should have a pair of riot shields and riot batons.
But I have long been of the opinion that cops are of such low morals and suspect character that they should not be armed with firearms.

These days policing is often done in a war zone and requires a close quarters combat mind. Most women don’t have close quarters combat minds, (nor do they have close quarters combat bodies); this one clearly doesn’t. It is hard to de-escalate if you don’t have physical strength, and if you brain freeze in such a situation you are a hazard to your partner. She should get another job.

I think it is harder for women to be police officers in these days than in some combat roles like aviation (which is more like drive by shootings than close quarters combat). Because policing has become close quarters combat, which the vast majority of women are simply not suited for it, with some rare exceptions. Women cops are likely better suited for helping abused children or female rape victims than patrolling with a male partner. That is an area where they might be more suited than men. Sad for all involved.

Pat H. Bowman · December 13, 2023 at 9:31 am

The male cop would have been better off taking a cardboard cutout of a cop and setting it next to him. Time and time again we see ponytail cops completely freeze, shoot their partner or get pummeled by a perp. Over and over, the “hero” ponytails get promoted, then medically retire. Every single dime spent on them from the day the enter the academy until they take their last breath is a waste of taxpayer money. You’re never in more danger than when a ponytail cop is around.

Bad Dancer · December 13, 2023 at 12:51 pm

I always thought it would be fun to put a rubber dummy ontop of some type of motorized rig and drive it around and especially AT a shooter for training but would be fun to tape a shock knife to one and at people try to shoot it out of the things hand. Miss and you get a nice lil zap.

He should have just found a balcony and fired his shotgun into the air. No less of an authority than the Commander in Chief says that works every time.

Rick · December 13, 2023 at 7:44 pm

Didja notice after the shoot he tells woman cop to ‘cuff her’. As she moves to put the cuffs on, he says kick the knife away.

It seems to me that woman cop was paralyzed with fear. Or something. Just overwhelmed. Not task saturated because all she had to do was akin to one foot in front of the other.

To be told to remove the weapon is very remedial. God help anyone she comes into contact.

Rick · December 13, 2023 at 7:57 pm

Also, how many shots fired? This was one perp, in well lit clear conditions, well in view, slowly, steadily advancing albeit ignoring orders.
No furtive movements. No ambush, no vocalized threat, not running or making erratic gestures.

So why should citizens be limited in magazine capacity? This shooting is more evidence that the gun grabbers are full of it.
