The US military will now begin accepting people who once tested positive for weed. I didn’t know that this policy had ever ceased. When I was in the military back in the 80s, you could get a waiver for THC use in your past, as long as you stayed clean after enlisting.

When I was at Cinclant in the ’70s I was high on duty (at least for the first couple of hours of my watch) most of the time and everyone knew it. I was also the most qualified person in my division and did more work than anyone else, so nobody cared. My evals were stellar. I also knew several malingerers who got shipped out for relatively minor violations of the UCMJ. Excel at your job and that IS your waiver for a lot of shit.
