As far back as February 8, Russia claimed that the US had secret laboratories in Ukraine that were and are researching biological weapons. Russia claimed that they had destroyed 7 of the 11 laboratories using missiles during the early hours of the Russian invasion. Politifact, the same people who told us all about COVID and totally debunked the rumors of a stolen election, immediately fact checked the entire story as being “false”

On March 8, China echoed Russia’s claims that the Pentagon has been funding bioweapons labs in Ukraine.

The US called the claims absurd on March 9th. The US press secretary took to Twitter to call the claims made by Russia “preposterous” and made the claim that it was a disinformation operation by both China and Russia.

In a statement, Ned Price, spokesperson for the Department of State, accused Russia of “inventing false pretexts in an attempt to justify its own horrific actions in Ukraine” and said Washington was “in full compliance with its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention and Biological Weapons Convention, and it does not develop or possess such weapons anywhere.”

John Kirby, Pentagon spokesperson, called the Russian accusations “absurd,” “laughable,” and a “bunch of malarkey.” “There’s nothing to it. It’s classic Russian propaganda,” he told reporters.

Then on March 10, the US government admitted that there were biological research laboratories, but stated that the labs were not secret and were not being used to research weapons. The US maintained that, even though the labs were funded through the Department of Defense, they were for purely scientific in nature and totally not for biological warfare.

On March 11, the World Health Organization advised the Ukraine to destroy the pathogens in the laboratories so that they wouldn’t fall into Russian hands. You know, because the pathogens that are in the labs are totally for peaceful research and couldn’t possibly be weapons, but would be dangerous if they fell into the wrong hands. We all know how forthright and trustworthy the WHO is, since they so masterfully and truthfully handled the worldwide COVID response.

Then on March 14, White House press secretary Jen Psaki cautioned officials to be on the lookout “for Russia to possibly use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine, or to create a false flag operation using them.”

On March 15, the UK intelligence community predicted that Russia would use fabricated claims of weapons of mass destruction to discredit the west and justify their invasion of Ukraine.

By April 1, the US government’s story had changed. Now the Pentagon was telling Congress that there are “no offensive biologic weapons in the Ukraine laboratories that the United States has been involved with.”

According to a Pentagon fact sheet released in March (pdf warning), since 2005, the United States has “invested approximately $200 million in Ukraine … supporting 46 Ukrainian laboratories, health facilities, and diagnostic sites.”

Robert Pope, the director of the DTRA’s Cooperative Threat Reduction Program, told the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists in February that the labs might contain Soviet-era bioweapons and warned that the conflict in Ukraine could accidentally lead to the dangerous disease-causing pathogens being released. Wait a minute- I thought the Pentagon said that there were “no offensive biologic weapons in the Ukraine laboratories that the United States has been involved with?”

The ever changing nature of the story being released by the Pentagon is what smells like disinformation. Have you ever caught someone in a lie, so that person then modifies the lie to fit the newly discovered facts? That is what this looks like.

The most likely story that fits these facts is that the US, along with the rest of NATO, has been engaged in illegal research into biological weapons in China (don’t forget that Fauci was funneling money into the Wuhan lab) and the Ukraine. The Ukraine was kicking some of the money back to the then Vice President of the US in order to keep the money train moving. They did this by hiring Hunter Biden at an outrageous salary to be in charge of a fake company that he was wholly unqualified to run.

It is looking more and more like our government is evil, corrupt, and willing to do anything to gain more power.

I’ve got to send kudos on this post. I think it’s up with the most important things I’ve read this year.

The way I’m interpreting the big picture is that when our government made the law saying (virtue signalling) that “we’re not going to do any research that can be used for bioweapons,” they decided the way around that was to have other countries set up the labs and we would pay them to do the research. Thus leading to Wuhan Virology Lab, these Ukrainian facilities, and probably more scattered around the world.

The problem, as with all weapons research, is that any research they might think is being done for defensive purposes can just as easily be interpreted as being for offensive purposes.

Especially in the case of the Wuhan lab, outsourcing research that could be used against us to our most likely enemy nation ranks up there with the most stupid decisions in history. It seems for that particular decision we can thank Dr. Fauci.

@sig – What you are saying, where the US Gov’t circumvented the “no bioweapons research law” by outsourcing it, reminds me of another example. A law prevents US Gov’t from spying on US citizens, but the UKUSA Agreement allows them to circumvent it. The GHCQ spys on the US citizens, and then sends the data to the NSA. So “technically” the US Gov’t isn’t spying on US citizens, except in reality, it is.

This along with your example makes me wonder how many other things are going on, where the US Gov’t is using other countries or 3rd parties to circumvent restrictions on doing the work here.

Federal law used to prohibit opening someone’s mail without a warrant. The intelligence services wanted to be able to open mail in bulk during WWII, so to get around the law, they sent the mail to the Azores, which belonged to (theoretically neutral) Portugal to be opened, inspected, and then forwarded on.

United Parcel Service has a deal with the FBI; UPS employees will “voluntarily” open packages and notify the FBI if they find anything interesting. So even though they’re UPS employees, UPS is totally not involved, nosiree.

There is so much fud flying in the whole Ukraine situation that I don’t ewhat to think.
However, I Suspect that SiG is either right on target or very close.
Don’t forget that lots of bio weapon research is closely related to regular medical research and that addressing naturally occurring agricultural problems, such as anthrax, provides “useful” information for offensive research.
I figure the labs in question in the Ukraine probably did both and more, so they can be described multiple ways … Which of course bureaucrats took full advantage of!

    The three main problems are:

    A) anything discovered or developed would be automatically known by a foreign government (Ukraine) which might not always be a good idea

    B) if they were legit, why would the Fed deny them?

    C) (1) why Ukraine? And C) (2) why keep them there as the political situation deteriorated?

And the further question; where *else* is the Fed running mystery bio labs?

And still further, why keep the labs in the US or a territory? A biology degree will get you on second shift at Starbucks; we’re ass-deep in them. You can probably get American biologists as cheap as Ukrainian ones.

The US military isn’t stupid on a grand scale. They assume that the bad guys are going to do bad things and want to be able to respond as needed.

So the agreements say that the US is not creating or storing gas or biological weapons.

First, the hard part is almost always the delivery system. Work on delivery systems is on going and allowed. And the agreements allow research with small amounts.

But let’s take VX, the nerve agent of the US. We are not allowed to have stock piles of the stuff.

But, it turns out that you can have two chemical mixtures that can combined easily which results in VX. Those two chemical mixtures are not controlled and not limited.

So in order to use chemical agents all that had to happen is two liquids and a delivery system are mated together. And at no time is there ever stuff stockpiled that was in violation of agreements.

I’ve worked with the people that did that research. And the scariest thing I’ve seen was when a bunch of government employees were all standing around on the steps of a building, unwilling to cross the street to get in their cars for lunch… Because a pickup with a cab on back was being escorted by rifle armed MPs drove past.

I like the post, with one quibble:
“It is looking more and more like our government is evil, corrupt, and willing to do anything to gain more power.”
Where has your head been stuck for the last 20 or so years?

    Divemedic · April 5, 2022 at 3:42 pm

Things aren’t getting worse. They are simply getting more obvious. The scary version of that is they are no longer worried enough about consequences to bother hiding it.

      EN2 SS · April 5, 2022 at 4:33 pm

I disagree, when Evil no longer tries to hide its Evil, things get worse. I really think that if the current crap was tried in the 50-70s, the population would have violently rebelled. Evil has spent the last five decades training the sheeple to obey, they think they’ve won and now they can do the pogrom that’s been planned for a long time.

“Dual Use” is a wonderful CYA phrase. Learn it, love it, know it.

Fauci and Co. funded illegal (in the US) research in China on bioamplification of a SARS virus not for weaponization, but for research on effective means of combatting it. Totally. Pinky Swear.
