Chicago is sending unarmed, yellow vested peacekeepers in to violent scenes, instead of police officers. The idea is that they will deescalate instead of use force.

If there’s unrest downtown or mass shootings elsewhere in Chicago this Memorial Day holiday — often among the year’s most violent weekends — a special team of 30 “Peacekeepers” wearing yellow vests will be mobilized to help calm things down, state officials said Tuesday.

What I’m curious about, is just how many of the 30 suicide wannabes live through the weekend. I’m betting on 4 survivors. But with wounds.

I’m wondering who would be dumb enough to accept this job, and how long it will take for all of them to be killed.

Think of it as Evolution in Action, and schedule the Coroner’s wagon for their trip home. Those clowns aren’t going to survive long in the streets.

The city would be better off sending out shooting coaches so fewer bystanders are hit by stray bullets.

(Nice Niven/Pournelle reference. They wrote some great stuff…)

They better have some plates in those yellow vests.

And in 5 years, after the freedom of information request is finally approved, the phone tracking data on these “Peacekeepers” will show that every one of them was actually sitting at home, gundecking their activity reports.

How about rainbow EV clown cars with the Dukes of Hazzard sound when you press on the wheel.
We need some fabulous outfits as well, maybe Dylan Mulveiny could lead a parade of them!
Idiocracy is my favorite documentary.
