A guy gets called to remove a large swarm of bees from a tree in Alabama. This is pretty amazing to watch.

I was thinking of getting into bee keeping.

I have a great spot in the yard where they can be left alone, with power closeby in case I need too keep them warm when cold fronts happen

I wonder what was going through his mind the very first time he did something like that.

“Don’t try this at home”. The video screen is as close as I’d get to 50,000 stinging bees.

I don’t know how anyone does that without the suit and smoke to calm them down. That he only got two stings is remakrable. Even his initial bare handed scoop off the bottom of the cluster is something I’d never attempt unprotected, for fear of getting stung dozens of times. I guess he has learned to read their behavior and disposition, but there is still serious risk in that.

I caught a swarm in a nuke plant. Had to get plant safety, dosimeter and security involved. They were in a PA speaker. As I left the PA it was funny watching the guards AR’s in hand, backing away from the guy with a box of bees.
