Prioritize ammo if you haven’t. You have to wonder if this is a coincidence or not.

The Winchester link goes to the Hornady plant explosion.

You’ve got the Hornady link twice and no Winchester link.

IDF still uses 5.56, they haven’t gone to the 6.8 new hotness?

Looks like Biden and the Feds are behind the Lake City BS:

Yeah, I have about 7,000 rounds of Lake City green tip on hand. I may have to save it for a rainy day.

The truth about guns piece was from June of 2022… seems a bit out of date in this context.

      Divemedic · October 14, 2023 at 7:15 pm

Yes, I see that the story I linked to is over a year old. That’s my bad. However, I am hearing from multiple sources that Winchester (who runs Lake City) has stopped the sale of all military calibers at the wholesale level, indefinitely. They are claiming “due to events overseas.”

    Birdog357 · October 14, 2023 at 8:48 am

Check the date on that, it’s over a year old.

The 9mm link goes to an article from November 2021…
???

birdog357 · October 14, 2023 at 8:49 am

I can’t find an original source on the lake city thing. All I can find are small blogs that say: “According to news reports” I can’t find any actual news reports.

Echo Hotel · October 14, 2023 at 12:24 pm

If I’m not mistaken, it appears that the Winchester article is from November, 2021.

Given the amount of munitions already sent to Ukraine, and the fact that we took “war reserve” munitions stored in Israel to send to Ukraine, and (maybe) an awaking that our military doesn’t have enough of ANYTHING (except DEI classes), I can possibly understand the dedication of 100% of Lake City output to the military (hope it isn’t just another gun control effort instead and they are reducing output). The Winchester link seems to just be a recall of possibly defective ammo. Not much information on the scope of damage at Hornady, except the tragic loss of a life. That said, I’m seeing reports that US civilian demand for ammo has quadrupled or more at some suppliers. Fear sells ammo, and we should be fearful.

Divemedic did you see this?

https://www.captainsjournal.com/2023/10/16/other-ammo-news-maker-of-cci-federal-hevi-shot-remington-and-speer-bought-by-czech-company/

Not a good thing from my POV. Thoughts?
