Anti-gunners claim that you don’t “need” an AR-15 because it is a weapon of war(tm) that is only good for killing large numbers of people. However, what if where you live has become a war zone?
This isn’t what I think that a civilized society should look like. People shouldn’t have their property stolen by roving gangs of armed thugs threatening to kill them. In the old days, they would have been killed and their heads displayed on pikes as a warning to the others.

The way to end this is require registration to sell a used catalytic converter. Put the serial on them, and kill the market.
Me and the boy were talking about that since he’s about to pick up a Tacoma. A friend of his has one that has had it’s converter stolen twice. Then again, that dude volunteers in the hood. The IPs will steal from someone that helps them.
I’ve often wondered if you could isolate the exhaust from the car and motor, use a stepup transformer to charge the system. So the minute they touch it they get hit hard with a bolt of electricity.
easier solution here would simply be to electrify the gate and fence.

The Scrapyards are the key to stopping Catalytic Converter (and a lot of other) Theft. I go to one now and then with Junk that I OWN. It is run by Roaches who never ask for, or Record, the I.D. of who they buy ‘junk’ from, in Violation of Virginia ‘law’. Every Time I go there, I see Illegal Aliens with a beat-up japmobile with the Trunk and back Seat stuffed with Converters, mostly New-Looking, not from old junk Cars. They get wads of Cash for them, no questions asked. A little Sleuthing on the part of the po-Lice could have Every One of the Junkyards shuttered and their Owners locked up for Dealing in Stolen Goods (another Crime). I suspect that is Whites were on both ends of these ‘transactions’ they WOULD be promptly Arrested. But the Holy Roach Invaders are Not… that would be Raaayyciss!!

Society, especially in Dem cities has deteriorated to the point where there is no right and wrong anymore. No family structure, no morals, and no consequences. So this is what you get.
Fixing the root causes is hard, and doesn’t have any political capital, so of course nothing gets done.
There is no deterrent like going to jail anymore, but if these thugs knew there was a risk of getting shot while doing stuff like this? Maybe it wouldn’t happen so often.

I keep reading/hearing to put serial numbers/paint/etch/etc. on converters. Does anyone, I don’t, think that will slow it down, much less stop the thefts? Remember, your phones/computers/pads all have serial numbers of several kinds, nothing happens to them, does it? I can steal the latest phone, put in a sim and go to town. Theft of most things are profitable for the makers of the latest most popular thefts, they get to make more and sell it to be stolen. Simple.
