That’s where Putin has deftly painted Biden. With the Biden administration so ineptly handling the Ukraine situation, he has painted himself firmly into a corner with respect to ….

Taiwan. The potato in the Oval office and his group of morons handling foreign policy are overlooking one glaring problem. In opposing the Russians’ support for republics that have broken away from the Ukraine, he ignores that this is the exact situation to be found in Taiwan: A subdivision of a parent country, being supported militarily by outsiders against its parent country. When China makes its move on Taiwan, the US won’t have a leg to stand on while on the world stage.

Expect that to happen in the next few weeks.

It’s really quite a thing to see.

I laughed when I read this on Vox Day – https://voxday.net/2022/02/21/russia-recognizes-donbass-republics/

Those chess pieces have been moving all year.

This was a master stroke by Putin,.and take note that this is what it looks like when a country has a competent leader actually serving his country’s interests, unlike the jagoffs we have been repeatedly saddled with here.

Further, joey shitpants has already given defacto recognition of the two new republics by issuing an EO levelling sanctions against them. Real smooth there, mr. potato pants. One wonders if the policy “experts” running this recognize that they have conferred legitimacy on the existence of the DPR and LPR in so doing.

Of course the totally predictable reaction on the part of the US govt overlooks two big problems: first, DPR and LPR have just done exactly what Taiwan has done previously, and why the US is claiming, unconvincingly, that it will defend Taiwan against incursion, despite lacking the juice to actually do so against China. Second, the US itself exists only because 250 years ago our ancestors did the same thing to break free of England.

Once again I have to invoke the sarcastic “oh, but it’s different when we do it!” So damned predictable.

Somedays it seems like Putin is one of the worlds leading Trolls. Still, while its fun to see him make our idiots in chief look like the hypocrites they are, they’re clearly quite at home with hypocracy and I’m not at all convinced it does much beyond giving everyone a good laugh.

Oh, I know. Pointing out their hypocrisy and double standards is a waste of time, at least as an exercise to shame those responsible for doing it. I guess the only reason still remaining to do so is to induce enough cognitive dissonance that it might actually bring a few more fence-sitters over to our side.

you also don’t have a puppet regime there like you do in ukraine where you and the smartest person he knows made billions of dollars…may be another reason they let russia waltz in and take it, to hide these facts…
