After I wrote my last post on government censorship, they went and tried to do it harder. Biden is screaming about Twitter. Hillary is demanding that the EU, who has no Constitution protecting free speech, pass laws to force Twitter into censorship.

I planned for this. My server is outside of US or EU control. I’m not saying that this website can’t be silenced if the US is determined, just that it won’t be easy.

I agree with Aesop on this one: I just don’t see these wholesale tyrants giving up power voluntarily. There will be bloodshed.

Some have suggested that I switch this blog to an email service if free voices on the Internet are finally silenced. I don’t think I will do that. Should that come to pass, I think we can agree that at that point, the time for talking is over.

There are other ways to be heard, and we won’t be silenced.

I can’t really take issue with any of that. I’m of the opinion that the time for talk has already long since been over, given the left has been mono maniacal in their complete dismissal of and attempts to shut down any opposing viewpoint for the past two plus years. That only gets worse from this point forward. And no, Elon is not going to be our savior.

At this stage, an email list is also a lost cause. Delivery of email in the open – at least on public internet backbone – is already easily suppressed by the big players, just ask the RNC about their fundraising emails going into a black hole. One would have to assume that well encrypted emails would result in their being automatically suppressed merely on the assumption that they contain material our sworn enemies would find objectionable, even if such messages weren’t cracked to reveal their actual content.

Coded radio messaging and covertly hand delivered print communications (ala Soviet era Samizdat) are probably the future of any effective resistance.

The hour is late and time is short. I don’t see that there is really much more to discuss, and I find myself less and less inclined to do so, even amongst those of like mind. It’s pretty well apparent that most of us who hold discourse in a place like this already know what went wrong, and what needs to be done to have any chance of rectifying it. Constantly rehashing the finer points does nothing for us except to postpone the inevitable.

That said, I appreciate having a place with a sysop who “gets it” and has sought to implement some level of resiliency against what is surely coming.

Our best case scenario now likely is that the arrogance and hubris of these sons of bitches will be the instrument of their downfall. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of suffering to take place between now and the time their power finally slips through their fingers because they got cocky and couldn’t continue to wield it effectively.

Irony perhaps the purveyor of disinformation, of greatest quantity and disastrous effect, seeks to quash the ability of others, much smaller, to express what might be more disinformation but what is more likely exposure and correction of the big guys.

More of they do what they please including breaking multiple laws, but everyone else must toe the line and be silently accepting of abuse.

The left has always said regarding censorship, “it’s a private company and the 1st amendment doesn’t apply to private companies. If you don’t like it, make your own” with the Nyuk Nyuk knowledge that you’d never be able to build an alternative with the reach of the current gatekeepers. Now that one of the gatekeepers has been purchased and won’t be engaging in censorship, it has them shrieking, “we need to censor this.” What happened to the ‘private company’ argument?

Who, whom. That is why. There is no shame, no acceptance of a single standard, just:
if we’re doing it, it is ok, but if you’re doing it, it is not ok.
Who does what to whom is the only thing that matters.

Last bit similar to the axiom, if it’s time to start burying weapons it’s time to use them.

“There will be bloodshed.”

I am quite surprised it has not started already; I expected it some time ago.

Which means, probably, that when it does occur it will be just that more intense.
