All permits for the solar project have been issued and approved. Now we need to get on the installation schedule.

Now the fun begins. Here’s hoping you get a smarter inspector than we got for our project. The dipstick didn’t understand (or remember) what a normal shutdown looks like on a battery-backed solar system, he failed our installation 3 times until the installer got his area-level engineer to come in and baby-step the city moron thru the shutdown process and what he should see. We were far from the first PV w battery system installed in the city but he had no f-ing clue on what was what.

Drove my installer crazy and delayed our startup by two months.

Nice!

I’m just sitting over here in 98 degree sunny weather….with a broken RS485 jack that connects my battery bank….somehow I snagged it and snapped it off the inverter motherboard.

Plenty of sun, but it’s not doing anything for me because the inverter won’t do anything without communication with the batteries.
