Yep, you read that right. San Fransisco Bay is being raided by pirates. Our government can’t even deal with an issue that was settled on this continent over a century ago.
It’s as if the entity running the simulation that we are living in have tired of Orwell and have moved on to Rand for the dystopian phase of the game.
What author comes next? Please tell me it isn’t Lovecraft or Alighieri.

Just sounds like every day life has come to pop the delusion bubble on the waterfront — NOT “Piracy”. Marina owners tend to be the real “pirates” because of the costs they charge for ANYTHING.

I’m thinking this is more watercraft targetet burglary than any true form of piracy – at least until we hear of armed boarding of occupied boats, but I suspect we aren’t far from it.
I agree with you on costs – reasonable Marina’s, or anything near water, has gone the way of the dodo.
Of course people are finding options other than paying outrageous fees! They’re doing it on the streets too, and the cops use it as an excuse to generate money there also.

That should count as giving AIDS and comfort to the enemy.
And anyways, this is in Oakland. After hosting the Raiders twice, for 47 years, they really haven’t got any grounds for complaint.

It’s Oakland. So nothing new. Those robberies have been going on for decades. Last time it got really bad around there was in the early 1990’s before Three Strikes was passed. The county DA is a BLM nutcase who refuses to prosecute any crimes committed by “her people”. Before getting elected she was a lawyer who worked defense mostly for gang members. So its been South Side Chicago levels of crime recently. Daily shootings. The recall election process has already started so she should be kicked out sooner rather than later.

They do have a lot of butt pirates in the glorious CPUSA (D) HQ west and the steaming streaming feces map is always a gut busting morale booster, kind of hard to avoid stepping in it in such a shit ridden place.
