Used to flight instruct out of Fayetteville, NC (FAY), had many SF guys (and a very attractive USAF gal who wanted to solo before starting UPT) as students. No, we don’t take a mighty C152 up into thunderstorms just to “see what’s it’s like”…Had some SF psyops dudes – intense guys. One had been over in Bosnia running a print shop doing comic books, another told me about how he presented himself as just another American grunt and would frequent a local barber shop. Unbeknownst to the locals, our man was a grad of the DOD Defense Langauge Institute Foreign Langauage School and and was fluent in Serbo/Croatian, hah!!, joke was on them, as I can only imagine the intel my guy picked up just sitting in barber’s chair…..Good times….
