As much as I dislike McConnell, it was his refusal to allow Obama’s replacement for Scalia that made the massive court victories of the past month possible.

A shout out to RBG is warranted as well. It was her desire to have her replacement named by the first woman President that gave us the second big move.

Lastly, I want to thank the Democrats for being so sure that HRC would beat Trump, they decided to stick to the extremist pick on the theory that HRC was going to ram through a leftist candidate to replace Scalia and swing the court to the left.

Thanks for giving us our Second Amendment rights back. Thanks for putting a leash on FedGov power, and thanks for giving up abortion.

You guys rock.

Comrade commissar Garland on the SCOTUS?
Now that is too horrific to even contemplate.

In the background noise yesterday, I heard New York passed a bunch of lawd to get around the Bruen ruling already. A lot of gun free zones, and any restriction that Governor SFB Hochul could think of to mandate.

This all reminds me of a story I heard about Josef Stalin. He had ordered something the Pope publicly disagreed with. When Stalin was told, his answer was, “the Pope? How many divisions does he have?” In other words, if his army isn’t bigger than mine, why should I care?

These blue states seem to be saying, “how many divisions does the Supreme Court have?” and pitting their State guards (or National Guard) against the Supreme Court.

Those laws are unlikely to stand up. At least the social media part. Requiring posting on private business yes, but if it was all one law the whole thing will fall. NY’s only real option is to pass law(s) making all law abiding citizens felons and prosecute/convict them all. Then they can’t legally have guns. Of course NY is soft on felons so that would ultimately backfire.

“Thanks for giving us our Second Amendment rights back. “

Wasn’t a gift, we’ll still have to take them back in some places; the decision merely provides the authority to do so to those who did not understand to begin with.

I agree w being grateful to McConnell despite what he just did on gun control. The USSC implications outweigh the other, if I’m being honest. I hadn’t considered the point about Ginsberg but yeah, now that you mention it that seems on-point too.

Regarding the liberal states snaking and weaseling out from compliance with the Bruen ruling…
If I was trying to be clever and could get just one wish from the genie in a bottle, it would be to air-drop a copy of Unintended Consequences to every man, woman, and child and have them reading (yeah, that’s asking quite a bit even if you had a zillion copies). But from a Christian perspective, I can’t think of a more honest way of pleading with these commie a-holes to stop playing with the fire they seem to want to play with.
