If I am standing on my porch more than 30 feet away from a cop that is making an arrest in my driveway, and the cop walks over to claim that I am interfering in his arrest to arrest me, we are gonna have a problem. However, that’s exactly what happened in 2019 in Vallejo, California.

First, he has a motorcyclist at gunpoint, but holsters his firearm before showing the motorcycle rider his back. I would argue that the cop never really felt that the rider was enough of a threat to justify pointing a gun at him.

Second, you come onto MY porch because I am filming your empty headed conduct from 30 feet away, then you try to arrest me? Things will not go well, and we are going to be on the news that night. Just because you are a cop doesn’t mean that you get a free pass to violate my rights in my house, and I don’t give a shit what court decisions you have that claim otherwise.

But Burrell says [the cop] told him that he would let him go because he was a veteran, thanked him for his service and let him out of the car.

Bullshit. This hotheaded cop realized that he was making a HUGE mistake and used the “you’re a veteran, so I am letting you go” as a way to try and correct his error.

Burrell said he then went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a concussion. He is still seeking treatment and says his fingers remain numb from the handcuffs.

This is 100% tyrannical bullshit. I am normally a “let’s fight it out in court” kind of guy, but once you are on my porch, that shit goes out the window. Is that a threat? You bet your sweet ass it is. Just watching this video pisses me off.

Officer David McLaughlin has also been involved in two shootings since joining Vallejo police. He and Officer Matt Komoda fired on a suspect who was allegedly driving at them before crashing into a parked car on Aug. 31, 2016. No one was injured.

If you shoot like shit, it’s not a good idea to be driving around acting like an asshole while you point guns a people. Sooner or later, someone is going to accept your challenge. He has already shot at two people in his ten years as a cop. Most cops go their entire career without shooting at anyone.

Similarly, if I wind up on a jury in a case like this, I am going to oppose whatever this miniature tyrant’s position is. In this case, the Marine veteran got paid $300,000 by the city.

I absolutely agree. Even for a cop, approach my porch like that and you’re going to be staring down the barrel of a gun and had better not even twitch.

I have reached the point where I do think people need to band together and form security forces whose function is to thwart and neutralize the damned cops.

Another entry for “The Thin Blue Line” file. Of course, cops do this because they know they will get away with it under “qualified immunity” and even if there is a judgement against them, the taxpayers will pay it instead of them. It’s also why ‘policing for profit’ is so successful. Life in the U.S. would be a lot better if we went back to Sir Robert Peel’s Policing Principles.

At least the cop didn’t “mag dump” on the guy like those 2 female cops did in your previous post.

Until those cops start paying the price individually, either shot or bankrupted, not by taxpayer monies, not a damn thing will change.

Back the blue my anal crevice. Hold their feet to the fire and treat them EXACTLY like they treat us “civilians”.

A serious question. Is there a federal precedent that controls all of this recording LEO’s or not or is it a individual states rulings?
You see this all the time and the results are all over the place.
I would pay to have been on a jury trial with the vets case. Well your honor, we don’t feel there are enough zeros in that mans check yet.

Its Vallejo. A total dysfunctional city in the East Bay full of gangs where the police dept collapsed decades ago. Due to political corruption by the city council. You can guess the story.

What’s left of the hollowed out PD is full of cops unemployable in the rest of the state. Vallejo is like several other cities in the area, such as Oakland or Richmond, where its is a very bad idea to get off the freeway unless you really know where you are going. Thats during the day. At night…

Vallejo is the poster child for why city politicians going “anti-police” to pander to their voters ends up driving out all the competent police. Leaving you with the above. Although in defense of the cop thats gang ambush territory and the bordering county where a lot of the gangs are based the county DA has worked for the gangs for decades. The only reason more local cops have not been shot is the gangbangers are terrible shots. No other reason. As they have shoot outs all the time.

What constantly amazes me is how easy it would be to get the majority of us on their side, and, yet, they insist on being assholes and alienating us. Any cop who actually was interested in being a peace office would have no problem with being filmed — at worst, this footage is going to support his claim when the motorcyclist does whatever it is he’s worried about. Instead, this PIG goes out of his way to alienate the general populace while turning his back on the guy he originally thought was a threat? Bastard. Screw him, and screw all his “brothers” who didn’t kick his ass out.

What’s really sad is that back when I was in jr. and high school in the ’70s, when a bomb threat would come in, the administration would clear the building, but the local cops would be running into the building, yelling at everyone to get out NOW.

Want to know why it’s so hard to back the blue? When Marjorie-Stoneman’s officer stood outside, clear of danger while kids get killed? Then the municipal cops stand aside doing nothing, then when the Sheriff’s office show up, they run inside? Or Uvalde, when the cops stay safe and sound, arresting the parents and civilians who are trying to do something for the kids, and eventually the Border Patrol have to show up to take care of it?
