Hunter has been charged for being a drug user purchasing a firearm. Now that this law is going to be gone, he will walk. Who knew that Biden would rid us of more gun laws than Trump? Score:

  • Trump: 1 (bump stock ban)
  • Biden: 0 (-1 for drug user and guns, +1 for arm braces)

EDITED TO ADD: For those who say that the only reason Hunter is being prosecuted, read on. Of the 478 referrals for lying on a 4473, there were 298 criminal charges filed- that’s a charging rate of 62%. That’s high for most crimes. Among the most solved and charged felony in the US is homicide. 61.4% of reported homicides are charged. Only 14% of reported burglaries and 33% of reported rapes result in charges.

Isn’t the rule of thumb that if it was illegal when you did it, that’s what you’re judged under?

Well regardless, just like the impeachment story, if you believe that a Biden is going to be convicted of anything I’ve got some land to sell you. It’s only 5 miles east of Palm Beach so your commute time isn’t that bad.

Not if the law is found to be unconstitutional.

Wow. There’s a lot more that might come tumbling down. Domestic violence is a very recent addition to disqualifiers, and is inconsistent with the majority of our “history and tradition.” Wasn’t the 4473 itself an outcome of GCA ’68? So most of the history of the country didn’t have them.

NFA ’34 is arguable. Few remember a time when “machine guns” were unregulated. NFA has been around for some 40% of the country’s history, and things that might qualify as autoloaders (gatlings, etc.,) have been regulated longer than they have not.

Depends on what the meaning of the word “is” is…

I would be happy with the NFA as long as the registry was open. I would happily pay the $200 stamp for a SAW. I would have half a dozen FAs by the end of the week.
