IRS agents raid gun shop and confiscate all of the 4473s. Not only is it illegal for them to take 4473s, the 4473 contains no information that would pertain to the IRS, and the dealer now doesn’t have them in case of a compliance inspection from ATF.

Has Hunter Biden been buying guns up in Montana?

Jokes aside, why does the regime now want the records of all the buyers from that specific gun store? Is there a wind up toy about to go on the loose at the nearby air base? Is a prominent media figure who is known to frequent Montana hunting and fishing stores being targeted by the IRS for speaking out against the regime?

Looks like a Catch-22.

Now the ATF can fail the dealer on a compliance examination and put him out of business.

Which appears to be the end-goal for both agencies.

Laws mean nothing.

    Robert- Bingo. That’s exactly what they are doing. An aside, it’s a very popular gun shop and gets tons of business from the airbase, as well as the local national guard facility (I live near Great Falls, the shop is full of uniforms all the time). Maybe that was the main reason it was hit, as can’t have military members owning their own weapons. Our State AG is pissed, as supposedly no state law enforcement was contacted or given a ‘heads up’ call before the raid. No idea what he will be able to do.

We should watch to see if this becomes a trend. The current administration is looking for any avenue to attack gun rights. However, this is so strange, I can’t think what the goal is here. The IRS takes the forms….looking for what. Tax fraud by buyers? The retailer? Dollar values arent on those forms. Or is to get around the absence of a registry?

    The IRS is there for three reasons.

    1. To collect the forms, because the BATFE isn’t supposed to.

    2. To look at records that the BATFE isn’t supposed to look at. Who’s buying, who’s selling, who are the suppliers and contractors and all the other little people that aren’t involved in the 4473 form process.

    3. Fear. All the BATFE can do is pull your FFL. The IRS can do a deep colon cleanse and interpret their rules and hidden rules and read the entrails of sheep and determine that the business and the employees owe big money from years ago. And, bonus, interest is owned not from the day of finding the tax liability, but from the tax season. Find liability from 5 years ago, interest compounded daily from 5 years ago is owed. Special goodness is that the IRS won’t settle on a lesser amount on cases like these. They will go for all the money owed.
