Former Sergeant Blake Shimanek was demoted by the Keller PD twice, and then resigned in 2021 under pressure. The city declined to prosecute the victims, and settled their lawsuit for $200,000.

Shimanek has been indicted in Tarrant County and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for November 4th, 2022. The case number is 1684153.

Hooo boy. The guys wouldn’t make it through week one of training at my dept. Guy rolls his window up, and you can hear the fear in his voice. Instantly calls for another unit (running code!) for no reason. Orders his backup to arrest a bystander for no reason… holy hell. I guess I’m lucky our culture doesn’t allow this kind of bullshit. You’ve got to treat people the way you want to be treated, and have a large helping of common sense. Our backup is usually 5-10 minutes away, so you’ve got to learn how to talk to people and not be a Uniformed Dick. That attitude will get your ass beat in the trailer park or projects 20 miles away from the station. My lord these fools give us all a bad name.

Professionalism is a dying breed in all jobs.

Insert JarJar Binks quote…

“Consent of the governed.” Once it’s withdrawn, it’s gone and patrols will have to look like they do in Cancun, level IV armor, full battle rattle, and groups of 4. And I’m guessing that there are a whole lot more people here that could be a whole lot more effective than the bad guys there, turning the patrols into mobile resupply depots.

I don’t want it, but it looks like it’s headed that way.

Both of those cops should have been fired, prosecuted, and then executed for crimes against common sense, the People, and the Constitution. Pour encourager les autres.

$200,000 for this, and Alex Jones gets fined a billion dollars?

That video is extremely disturbing.

On another note, I read this headline in our local (former McClatchy) rag:

“SC senators announce plans for bail bond changes after sheriff’s deputy injured in chase.”

Only now they will make changes to bailbonds because a deputy was injured. I’m sure everyone in SC that has ever been assaulted, robbed etc. by someone out on bail over the years feels so much better.

When I was a kid, the local department hired some east coast fascist who smacked down a local vagrant native American who had never threatened anyone. Bad enough to put him in the hospital. Back then, there were such things as good cops. They took him out behind the station and “explained” that’s not how we do things in South Dakota. Never happened again. At least for as long as I still lived there.

It’s not just the one cop at fault here. The backup went along with it, no questions asked, at least according to their own body cameras. Barring there being some exculpatory evidence that was edited out, there were no good cops there.

Police brutality – pure and simple.

cops are not your friends. even ones you may know or think you know
will go along with the pack. it has always been us against them.
it is just the way they think because it is the way they are taught.
avoid them at all costs. this is nothing new. used to see shit like this as a kid back in philly over 40 some years ago.
a lot of kids got tuned up in paddy wagons before getting dumped back on the street a mile or more from where they grabbed your ass.
it used to be called teaching respect for the law back then.
nobody called the cops back then for anything if they could help it.

Hi, Neat post. There is a problem with your web site in internet explorer, would test this?IE still is the market leader and a good portion of people will miss your magnificent writing due to this problem.

I assume that you mean Microsoft Edge? IE has been discontinued for awhile. What is the issue? It looks fine from my end.
