My post from earlier this week on the proposal for national firearms licenses needs a bit of a follow up. Slate has jumped on their usual antigun bandwagon to write a screed in support of this plan. As expected, it hits every tired lefty talking point.

They claim that the AR15 is “two hundred times more lethal than the revolutionary muskets that helped win the American Revolution.” Of course, they ignore the fact that they published this article on the Internet, a speech platform that allows 1,000 times more child pornographers to exist than did handwritten bills of Benjamin Franklin, with the point being that changes in technology to not erode individual rights.

The authors at Slate refer to adherence to the Constitution as “originalist fantasy” as if the very document that grants power to the government in the first place were some piece of paper that can be ignored at the whim of a government official. In that, they are correct: the Constitution CAN be ignored by government officials. The founders knew that, which is why the RKBA exists in the first place. They knew that, one day, this very attitude was likely to take hold, the people themselves would need to take action, and access to arms would be necessary to right the wrongs of government tyranny. The article continues:

Alito appears to have gathered his facts about guns and subways from old Charles Bronson movies, not the meticulously documented evidence about gun violence and regulation supplied in the public health brief filed in the case. Unfortunately, Alito and the court’s new originalist majority appear to have difficulty telling fact from fiction. Indeed, instead of consulting history, as originalist theory requires, the justices seem perfectly happy to parrot the propaganda dished out in briefs bought and paid for by the NRA and other extremists gun rights groups.

Note that they attack Alito and the court. This is all a continuation of the attacks that are needed for the left to pack the court, and Alito is a target of their ire, especially in light of Alito’s own attacks on Roe v. Wade in his leaked opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. That particular event has made him the current political enemy number one of the left. I would daresay that he is about to overtake Trump as the left’s most hated man in America. The very next paragraph is a large tell:

It is bitterly ironic that the arguments and logic that Justice Alito put forth in his leaked draft opinion in Dobbs

The opinion that the 2A protects RKBA is referred to as a “libertarian gun rights fantasy” that confuses James Madison with Dirty Harry. What they forget is that Dirty Harry wasn’t a citizen trying to protect himself from government overreach, he was a cop who was enforcing his own version of the law using firearms and a monopoly on force that have largely been denied to the citizens he was sworn to protect.

The article attempts to make the case that states after the Civil War were “empowered by this recognition of express constitutional authority to robustly regulate arms in public, dozens of states and cities enacted laws limiting guns in public, including good cause permitting schemes similar to that in New York,” while leaving out that many of those laws were enacted to prevent the now freed slaves from having access to firearms.

Let the court decide that Americans actually have gun rights, let them actually decide that women don’t have a Constitutional right to kill their children, then follow that with their inability to pack SCOTUS to change it, and you will see a left that becomes insanely violent. Remember how they scream like petulant children when Trump defeated HRC? Remember that it was then that the left began systematically trying to destroy Trump by using the power of the swamp?

I used to think that CW2 would be triggered when the left pushed the right too far. I feel that I may have been wrong. It will be the left that kicks off CW2, and SCOTUS just might be the catalyst.

I’ve always believed that the fascists will continue their violence, until a not Civil War ll erupts to put a stop to them. Violence is the only thing that has ever stopped them.

Meanwhile Wayne LaPierre will be seen backing up and redrawing the red line to be crossed in a brand new $3K suit.

I became a life member of the NRA sometime around 2005. At various times, I have been a member of Florida Carry, the Second Amendment Foundation, and Gun Owners of America.
The NRA is now a shell of its former self, but is still good for firearms safety training. It’s always been an organization for hunters and Fudds. They pay occasional lip service to gun rights other than hunting, but only as a fundraising tool.
Florida Carry is all flash and no go. It seems to primarily be a fishing organization. Their founders and early members were filled with good intentions, but the organization was infiltrated by morons. They spend a lot of time arguing over who is the most pure in pursuit of – something that only loosely relates to guns.
SAF is doing great work in the legal arena. I just wish that Gottlieb would stop issuing press releases. The SAF is best at litigation. Leave the PR and lobbying to others.
Which brings me to GOA. They are doing the heavy lifting right now when it comes to lobbying.

Have been a member of GOA for quite a while. I left the NRA after they were calling me 3 times a week for more $$$.

This summer is definitely going to be interesting. Barring Divine Intervention, the summer of 2020 is going to look like a picnic once Roe is gutted.

At this point, I expect that open warfare will be a response to outright tyranny by federal agencies and some state agencies, with push back by local governments and some states.

I also expect the worst behavior to be in large cities and on the borders between liberal and conservative areas.
I would expect disrupted travel to make fuel and food supplies irregular.

If it (CW2) were done when ’tis done, then t’were well it be done quickly. Shakespeare, as always, was on point.
I dread the catalyzing moment, and the cost of it, but I don’t believe that a cold CW is good either. If we are to avoid it, response to leftist insanity would be well served by starting with policing our own. My sole response to the left’s rhetoric:

“Say when.”

I’ll be your huckleberry, say when.

The curious thing is that neither side really reads the second amendment.

A.) The second amendment does not grant the right to keep and bear arms. That right exists outside of the constitution. Dimmocrats could revoke the second amendment. The right to keep and bear arms would still exist.

B.) Everyone ignores the first half which says that a free government needs an armed population for its defense.

So what happens if a government chooses to infringe on the right to keep and bear arms? Very simply it can no longer claim to be a free state. This is a casus belli for rebellion. Read the declaration of Independence.

The Left screamed when Trump defeated Clinton (with help from Mr. Putin, but that doesn’t bother your side). But other than lawsuits and impeachment hearings, not too much violence. But the fringe groups were certainly emboldened. See Charlotsville for one example.
The Right screamed when Biden defeated Trump. And their response was to ‘take a peaceful tour of the Capitol’, right?

Most (not all) of the violence has been performed by your side. If the Left begins the next ‘Civil War’, as you call it, I would dare say it was instigated by the Right.

LOL. You morons on the left and your myopia. Let’s review the “peaceful protests” that the left carried out:
November 4, 2017 was the day that the left (in the form of Antifa) declared war on the right.

Then there was the Republican baseball shooting.

The Anitfa violence of August 2017 was another attack by the left. In fact, even CNN covered it.

You can review the entire list of political violence as documented here.

There are plenty of more examples. As far as the “Russian collusion” hoax, that has already been proven to have been instigated by agents of the HRC campaign.

I remain convinced that the Biden “win” was campaign shenanigans. Unless you care to explain away all of the election abnormalities that went on, as documented here on this blog and elsewhere.
We can start with an explanation of why the vote counting stopped in multiple states at the same time, Trump was winning when it stopped. Then the counting resumed after poll watchers left, with America waking up the next morning to find out that the counts had changed while the vote counting was supposedly on hold.

    TCK · May 22, 2022 at 3:23 am

Self defense against subhuman monsters like you and your comrades is justified violence. The numerous acts of murder and attempted murder that wicked animals like you and your gestapo buddies have committed is exactly why the Second Amendment was written.

When CW2 starts, it will because of, and in defense against, soulless inhuman filth like you.

DTWND · May 23, 2022 at 1:11 pm

Real nice how you immediately revert to demeaning adjectives and nouns when having a discussion that offers an opposing viewpoint.

The Republican DOJ under a Republican executive branch has said there was no widespread fraud in the 2020 election. And yet, since it doesn’t fit your beliefs, you refuse to accept the declaration and instead continue to hype already disproven “facts”. Sad really.

And it’s funny when you call the Left, ‘Antifa’. Which is short for anti-fascism, or said another way, against fascists. And by proclaiming that the Right is NOT Antifa, you are stating that your side is ‘Profa’, or for fascism. funny that you can’t even see the irony.

I will admit that the moron comment wasn’t polite. However, it IS my website, paid for with my money, so I get a bit of latitude there.

Antifa can call themselves whatever they wish. Their tactics are certainly fascistic. A rose by any other name.

I don’t see how you can say that the executive branch was run by a Republican, or how a DOJ run by Republicans can claim to have investigated anything. The press spent more time investigating Trump having more ice cream than his guests did than they did investigating this election.
Please explain to me what investigation was done by which executive branch, run by which Republican. There were no facts disproven, because there was no investigation. Any more comments on this topic need to go on this post.
