SCOTUS has allowed the ban on homemade firearms to go into effect. The courts aren’t going to save you. I once said that the biggest benefit to Trump’s election was his SCOTUS picks. Looks like that particular benefit may not be all it was cracked up to be.

Never have trusted them since before Scalia was murdered. They come out on a minor decision that makes them look like they are supporting the constitution but then they come out stabbing the people in the back on something that is a slam dunk to shut down but they support it to the benefit of the deep state and corporations. Guess the good old passenger “J. Roberts” on Epstein’s travel list keeps the the elitists protected. Would love to know what else the intel state has on the rest of the so called Conservatives…..

All that and NooYawk wanting to have “checks” on “3d printers”.
Don’t tell them about the “PA Luty Loophole”, m’kay.

Unfortunately, I suspect that dealing with democrats, communists, and other tyrants is ultimately going to require the same sort of solution that dealing with a terrorist organization like Hamas requires.

Does anybody Notice that Banning “Parts Kit/80% Guns” is going to lead right into trying to Ban the Sale of ANY “gun parts” right down to Springs? After all, “You still need Parts to Build a Gun!” screeches the commie/libtard.

    Miles · October 18, 2023 at 7:08 am

IIRC, some idjit in Cali has proffered a bill to control ‘parts’. Also, IIRC, it’s going nowhere ATT.
Now, if the fed bureaucraps were going to try that, they likely would have years ago, especially, I think, during the “AW Ban” decade.

Jonesy · October 17, 2023 at 9:07 pm

In the grand scheme of gun control, this one doesn’t hurt the majority of people or the 2A very much.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m for a wide open expression of the 2A, but if we’re gonna lose one, it’s better that it’s something like this.

    chiefjaybob · October 18, 2023 at 7:14 am

We’ve been saying this same thing since 1934. We have to stop giving away our pieces of cake.

foot in the forest · October 18, 2023 at 7:20 am

A plan to be on the last
train to Dachau still ends in death. You probably won’t mind digital currency and the bugs it bought you for dinner. Remember it was just a marriage as you are instructed to take your children for their mandatory sex change surgery.

    “Just the tip”

    Jonesy · October 18, 2023 at 10:14 am

Lol guys, death camps, digital currency and bugs for dinner. I get the point, and the tip has been buried for years. This is another 1/32 on what I hope is a 12 incher

My point was how many of us are making our own firearms? The cross section is pretty small. If I was one of them, I’d be barking. I have no issue with those who do.

But if we are going to lose on something (and we did), this hurts less. I’m gonna focus on the pistol brace issue, because if you read the text of the injunction, there could be a foundation to strike down the NFA, especially in the context of SBRs. That’s 1/2 inch in the right direction.

      Divemedic · October 18, 2023 at 11:36 am

Perhaps you have been sleeping for the past few decades.
      * In 1934, it was a tax to get guns away from gangsters. I don’t need a BAR or a Tommy gun. We need to stop the St Valentine’s Day massacres, after all.
      * In 1968, it was to stop assassins from ordering guns by mail. Who cares? I can buy them at Sears or the hardware store. After all, shouldn’t a gun that has no sporting purpose be outlawed?
      * In 1984, they outlawed machine guns. No one wanted to die on that particular hill. There aren’t many people who own them.
      * 1993. Isn’t what happened to President Reagan and Secretary Brady a travesty? We need to pass this law requiring background checks. You don’t want criminals to get guns, do you? I don’t care if they require background checks, because I have nothing to hide.
      * Then the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994. We need to stop these mass shooters. I don’t care, because I don’t own an AR15. I mean, I don’t even know anyone who has one.
      * Then came the bump stock ban of 2018. Who cares? I don’t own a bump stock. Almost no one does- they are a cheap gimmick. Not at all as good as a real machine gun.
      * Then there was the FRT ban of 2022.
Now it’s going to be homemade firearms.

When does it stop? When do you say we aren’t going to take another restriction? When do they finally give you enough of that dick for you to say you aren’t going to allow one more inch?

        Jonesy · October 18, 2023 at 2:03 pm

When does it stop? When we can elect politicians that respect an originalist interpretation of the 2A, all the way from our local city council to every rep and senator in DC, with a President that supports the same, and puts judges on every bench that supports the same. But we’re stuck with a divided government. And so we don’t get everything we want.

Even when the politician we want puts people we think will make decisions we like on the bench, they don’t always do what we want. You mentioned that in your original post above.

This is a good place to remind everyone who hasn’t read it already, to read Unintended Consequences by John Ross.

I used to be one of those who would weigh each new gun control proposal, wanting to be “fair” and support the proposal if it would “do some good”. Idiot earlier me. Unintended Consequences opened my eyes to the correct way to view gun control. Read it!

I have a first edition in hardback. The only thing wrong with it, is it is missing the dust jacket.

WWIII kicks off after Brandon leaves and anyone without a weapon at this point is a boat anchor.
Noticing lots of strangers walking about rocking the Bundy with watch cap and hood up, eyewear or face covering on.
The meme about the it gets worse now is right on and we’ll grow tired of all the worst case scenarios as groundhog disaster day under the wrecking ball disguised as an incompetent old man burns it all down the best.
SCOTUS is only supposed to interpret the law but since the brothel congress got deleted by the historic pen and phone it has assumed a more vigorous role, hopefully some of these fiefdoms and factions turn against each other but they all worship their mad man made god known as the state, almost like a cult.
Sadly it will take us all to our doom? Shakespeare has left the building.

    Mike Fink · October 18, 2023 at 7:32 am

“SCOTUS is only supposed to interpret the law…”

Not correct. In fact this is a dangerous and subversive Marxist notion. The Constitution is written in plain english. It means what it says and requires no “interpretation”. The Charter of the SCOTUS is to judge the actions of the Executive Branch and the laws passed by the Legislature for constitutionality or not with the objective document itself as a reference.
This idea that the Constitution is mysterious and unknown and can only be understood by groups of trained mystic lawyers is a myth sustained by those who would separate the People from their rights.

      Rick · October 18, 2023 at 10:35 am

      Mike Fink, THANK YOU!
You are exactly correct about the Judicial branch, the intended weakest branch, the unsern branch. Yet the damn myth persists.
The Supremes have usurped so much power for so long – at least since 1803 Marbury – and the other branches of government just roll over.

For anyone’s information, Hillsdale College and the Institute On The Constitution both offer instruction of exceptional quality on that founding document. For free!

Dirty Dingus McGee · October 17, 2023 at 11:01 pm

I notice the article doesn’t identify who the traitors are who voted in favor. We know the usual suspects, but who are the turncoats?

Not that anything can be done, legally, about it, but it would be nice to know.

    Chris · October 18, 2023 at 10:34 am

The make believe “conservatives” Roberts and hyphenated “Comey-Barret” are the ones who joined the 3 SCOTUS diversity hires.

Dirty Dingus McGee · October 19, 2023 at 4:31 pm

So the 5 justices that are equipped with a vagina voted en bloc. Figures.

Miles · October 18, 2023 at 7:06 am

Keep things in perspective.
The right of private individuals to make their own personal firearms has not been affected, just using a couple of company’s product have.
Defense Distributed likely saw the handwriting on the wall so started making mills that use “0%” block of aluminum.
And, this ruling was only about an injunction while the trial proceeds, to what level of appeal by the losing side we’ve yet to see.
Yes, the courts are not our Lord & Savior, but lets not concede defeat just yet.
