Two men threaten physical violence against a restaurant patron. One threatens deadly force (“I will stick yo ass, nigga.”). The comments to this video claim that they are in the right because the man said he is a racist.

I wouldn’t have turned my back on them. These thugs went there with the intention of starting a confrontation. They brought an expensive camera with them and are clearly goading him into a response. So they walked up to his table and started a scene, so they could record the it after they started the event by stealing a drink from the table. So given these facts:

  • Thug in hat: “I will beat yo ass right now. Here, hold this camera.”
  • Turns hat backwards.
  • Gets in the guys face.
  • Outnumbered two to one

In this case, I think that it is reasonable to believe that there is a real risk of imminently becoming the victim of violence. Keep in mind that he has already threatened deadly force. They stole a drink. That makes this armed robbery, a forcible felony.

Would a warning be in order: “Back off right now, or you are going to regret it?” Or, is the threat imminent enough that immediate force can be used?

If force can be used or threatened, is it enough for the presentation for a firearm, or would you be limited to pepper spray? If you are wrong, you either die or go to jail.

What did ole Remus say, “Stay away from crowds”?

I notice Feral’s love to be in crowds.

Going broke defending myself in court and or visiting the feral training ground (Prison) for a few decades isn’t worth it.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Just saying.

First of all the video reeks of fakery. I wouldn’t be surprised if they (the participants) were all friends.

Anyone approaches me in that manner and either me or they are going to walk away. If they follow me or continue to taunt, I guess I could pull my automatic knife and inform the closest person that I’m going to cut them if they don’t back off. At that point, it’s a total crap shoot.

There is no effective resistance to this sort of assault that will be permitted by the local authorities. And where these assaults happen they have tacit approval from the authorities. The “Laws” of self-defense mean absolutely nothing.

If one is not suicidal, the best course is to immediately walk away without speaking a word. The “bad guys win”, but you are still alive.

This sort of aggression will stop only after repeated incidents where the target victim snaps and kills all of the aggressors without regard to the legal aftermath.

Of course, the authorities will kill or prosecute the victim. And a new group of thugs will try again to push the limits. Each time there is a snap, the thugs and their backers will get less enthusiastic.

These things don’t “just happen”. They are organized and scripted. Eventually somebody will start going after the organizers. If we are very lucky that will be through criminal prosecutions.

If I were in a restaurant that let this happen, I’d walk out and refuse to pay my bill.
I think hurtiythe places that allow this in the wallet will work faster than other methods.

Local legal authorities are on the same team as the immediate attackers, and defend them. Local legal authorities are voted for, obeyed, and paid salaries by the victims. Today’s boxcar is a white prison van.

IF it’s legit, and that’s a medium IF, Robert (above) has, I think, a reasonable solution: get up and leave, in the safest manner possible, and once in a safe location, call 911 (pulling out your phone right there to call 911 would – probably – get the phone stolen, too, and then it’s Game On). There’s no data on what occurred prior to the start of the video, but if an establishment permits its patrons to have part of their food order stolen by intruders it is an establishment one should avoid, completely and forever.

The 911 thing: the restaurant may claim the patron ordered food and left without paying for it. Notifying the cops, and remember, the First 911 Caller Wins, avoids that because “I was threatened with bodily harm and the restaurant took no action to prevent it so I had no choice but to retreat from the threatening situation.” Insist on a written incident report, get the case number, and pay the $2 for a copy at the Records Unit.

And develop a plan for the next time this happens because it will happen again, it can and will happen everywhere, and at some point Things Will Have To Be Dealt With.

But pick a position of advantage for that.
