There are some who think that this song is a working class protest song against the rich. It isn’t- the rich men he is singing about are the ones in DC:
Johnny Paycheck-Take This Job and Shove It is classic and Convoy from the 1970’s, songs for the working class.
Those on the left who aren’t Long March useful idiots should be against the indispensable apparatchik managerial class running the FUSA into the ground, you would think.

I’m not a big country music fan, but I listened to it, and that there was some right powerful stuff. I don’t even know this guy, and I already like him.

But they did it for us. Always looking out for us little people. Can’t stay there to keep “helping” us, if they don’t have the money. And they “need” that vacation house on Martha’s Vineyard. Helping us is tiring work and a vacation every 6-8 weeks is important to keep their strength up for the fight.
We need to appreciate the sacrifices they make for us more than we do.
