The Republicans aren’t the party that will defeat Democrats. They are more dedicated to maintaining the status quo than they are to the country or their constituents. Case in point:

Kevin McCarthy and other members of Republican leadership say they will not be impeaching Biden because they don’t want to stoop to democrats level. The rest of the Republican lawmakers are in a dick measuring contest and political infighting to see who will be in charge.

Either Americans need to find another party that is willing and able to represent them, or we are going to lose the entire country, and be forced into a choice between civil war or tyranny.

Uh, well, Republicans have never been “the guys,” at least certainly not since Eisenhower, and more likely, not since Coolidge (and he was a standout, because the Long Line of Repubs since the party was created hasn’t zackly showered itself with glory).

So, what’s Plan B?

Back in 2008 Borepatch mentioned that he was voting O’Bama because the Dems would accelerate the decline and the sooner we got the Dead Cat Bounce at the bottom of the shaft the sooner we could begin to turn things around. Not that the decline hasn’t happened, it most certainly has, but that tack doesn’t seem to have worked, at least not the way BP may have though tit would.

There’s no doubt in my mind voting R isn’t the solution (although I’m willing to give DeSantis a try, maybe….but I’m not expecting much difference in final result because the Deep State will do to him what they did to Trump).

So, other than gunfire in the streets, and lots of it, accompanied by Hoyt’s a la lantern (neither of which I would rule out as Totally Unacceptable Solutions – it did work once – but which I would very much prefer to avoid with A More Orderly and Constitutional Resolution) what’s the answer? (As a related side note, I think Alan Korwin over at PageNine has a point with his Aggravated Infringement pieces, but that’s not currently incorporated as an option).

> Americans need to find another party that is willing and able to represent them

The Libertarian Party has been around for a while now… 😉

    Divemedic · June 24, 2023 at 2:22 pm

Don’t even get me started on those morons. They are the party of open borders, while spending all of their time arguing about who is a “real” libertarian.

      D · June 24, 2023 at 2:32 pm

I agree…but closed borders isn’t “freedom”. Eventually the border will be turning the guns inward to keep us in a prison state. You already can’t cross the border without permission from the State in the form of a passport. You can’t cross if you have too much money. You can’t cross if you have unapproved items…eventually you won’t be approved to cross.

Hell–do you think Trump could just pack his bags, slip the secret service, and go to the airport to leave the country? He’d be stopped.

If you have the freedoms the Libertarians preach–speech, worship, guns, etc…an open border doesn’t really affect you. Some coked up rapist jackwang crosses the border and tries to get into your house? *bang* One less trespassing piece of crap in the world.

If the majority of government gets abolished like the Libertarians want, who cares if someone from a third-world country shows up here? It’s not like they’d get a free education, free money, free healthcare, and free welfare…they’d have to earn it like you and I do.

        Divemedic · June 24, 2023 at 4:34 pm

Pipe dream. Never happen. The country is going to collapse, and elections aren’t changing anything. Not one Libertarian has ever been elected to a national office. They have never gotten more than what 5% on a national election? Even if by a miracle, a Libertarian gets elected, what is their plan for dealing with $35T in debt?

          EN2 SS · June 24, 2023 at 4:54 pm

They’ll talk about how great it is to be the “real” libertarian.

          D · June 25, 2023 at 8:48 pm

          > They have never gotten more than what 5% on a national election?

Eh. They’ve never won, so I’m not gonna waste my vote on them. Instead I’ll waste my vote on red team/blue team.

          > The country is going to collapse

No argument there. It’s too late already. Even if someone like Ron Paul won the next election and gutted the government.

          > Even if by a miracle, a Libertarian gets elected, what is their plan for dealing with $35T in debt?

Seeing as how taxation is theft, that $35 trillion was junk the moment it was issued/promised/whatever. Sorry medicare/medicaid recipients. Sorry other countries that were promised free shit off the backs of Americans. Sorry Federal Employees, your retirement never existed. Government lied to all of you.

When the ensuing civil war ends, hopefully some decent human beings will start this experiment over with a few changes to try and keep government from becoming tyrannical.

i.e. the second amendment should probably be changed to including something about “In this country we take people at their word let their actions prove themselves. Therefore any politician who *threatens* to violate individual rights is fair game.”

            Divemedic · June 25, 2023 at 10:00 pm

LOL. So libertarians win the election, then immediately repudiate the debt, thereby collapsing the economy and the government, which means that they are in charge of nothing?
Yeah, and that is why libertarians will never win an election. It is the party of mental masturbation.
Sorry, but the libertarians aren’t going to win an election by proving that they know nothing about economics while promising everyone weed and hookers.

              D · June 26, 2023 at 7:28 am

What? You want to keep this shit-show going?

I voted twice in my adult life. Once for W before I realized that voting is me putting my name and giving my ascent to every evil action the crooked politician takes, and the second was Ron Paul in 2008. I’ve had a lot of internal moral debates over the last 20 years, and I’ve decided that’s probably not the best stance. Next year I’m voting for whichever candidate is most likely to hasten the demise of the country.

It may be a horribly, bloody process, but it’s inevitable no matter who you vote for. Once it collapses and we (probably) fight off a legion of Chinese invaders, my wife and kids will be left in peace.

That’s probably a bit idealistic…but at this point, we’re out of options. I’ll take the devil I don’t know.

      Big Ruckus D · June 24, 2023 at 3:04 pm

I’m glad you said it. The libertarians have only ever been about exactly two things:

      1. Legal weed, which is now practically an accomplished fact, and without any real action on their part anyway, and

      2. Theorizing a fictitious political/governance system that complete overlooks how human nature will completely fuck it all up. Nothing but mental masturbation.

Also, as to the republicants not stooping to the dems level, do come on now. They routinely bend over to get sodomozed by them, and then exclaim “thank you thir, may I have another!” Then they get publicly excoriated for assuming the gender of their sodomizer.

Fuck all three parties with a rusty chainsaw that has a broken clutch at low throttle.

        EN2 SS · June 24, 2023 at 4:55 pm

        You misspelled republicunts.

Elrod · June 24, 2023 at 2:12 pm

Edited to add: Someone, probably multiple someones, will point out Repubs did abolish slavery, which not only did the Dems not do, Dems have been trying mightily ever since to re-institute it in one form or another. Repubs are not without all accomplishments, but the dividing line between R and D has, for the most part, if not been erased, become quite well obscured.

And, as an offshoot of the entire Slavery Abolishment Process Lincoln did see fit to trash everyone’s constitutional rights rather severely without seeming to suffer too much personal angst over it.

    Divemedic · June 24, 2023 at 2:23 pm

LOL. Lincoln was the single worst President for liberty that this nation has ever had, and the competition for that title is pretty fierce.

Chris · June 24, 2023 at 2:35 pm

The Republican Party started as a big war, big government, Anti American party of progressives and communists. Why would anyone expect them to be different now?

Jonesy · June 24, 2023 at 3:05 pm

Spineless…almost all of them. Even though Washington is a mess with all the BS surrounding Trump, they have probably the most clear cut case in this nation’s history for impeaching a president. If they won’t do it, then all of these committees and hearings amount to jack shit. No one is going to jail or even getting charged with anything serious. Keep stacking. It may be needed sooner than later.

Beanbag Chair · June 24, 2023 at 3:24 pm

Ape Lincoln used wartime to trample over everything and now you know why they want permanent war.
Not just for the MIC shekels.
The Grand Old Politburo Washington Generals are more worthless than a pet rock, at least you know what you are getting with the Long March CPUSA (D) useful idiots.
GOP=Useless Idiots.

dc · June 24, 2023 at 4:26 pm

Good points made in comments. I think the Republican party has gone to Whig and needs to go away. I wonder if the Kennedy candidacy might bring a Unity/Ol’Fashioned Constitution (Type) Party? I’m aware of some of his flaws as a rich dood and who believes in the Church Of Gaia, Climate Synod. We need a solid corps (sp int) of Constitutional Originalists to drag us back from the edge of chaos. Or, a call to arms. I’d rather we have peace…

EN2 SS · June 24, 2023 at 7:18 pm

The oddest thing is happening to me, since I bought a lifetime pass from the feds to visit the parks, I’ve been deluged with crap emails from rinos.

A guy · June 24, 2023 at 8:00 pm

Any time, every time, I have heard someone say “I won’t stoop to your level” it really means they’re afraid to fight. Every. Time.

Big Ruckus D · June 24, 2023 at 8:38 pm

And here you thought you had to go on an African safari for a rino hunt. Although these days the genpop of DC looks much like Africa anyway. Go figure.

They are the party of open borders

Of course, you shouldn’t want an iron curtain. Nor can any human group forever shield itself from economic or military competition with other human groups. How did that work out for the Aztecs?

But that doesn’t mean you should pay out tax-funded benefits to someone who can’t show five years of tax returns demonstrating paying into the system. The university loan system asks for tax returns, why shouldn’t the welfare system?

Likewise for voting, live here legally for fifty years first.

S Beam · June 25, 2023 at 9:17 pm

If you think we have open borders, try to get out without a passport. youll learn quickly how important their border is.
