I think that I have a pretty good amount of supplies laid in. With that being said:

Just because the Dems are going nuts, I went to GunMag Warehouse and ordered some Hexmag 30 round magazines in 5.56 for $10 each, and 20 round 7.62 NATO at $15 each.

Then I went to 2Awarehouse and ordered some 5.56 Lake City Greentip at 65 cents per round. I know there is cheaper ammo out there, but it’s usually dirty, steel cased, and 55 grains. This stuff also comes in a can and already on the stripper clips. I also got some subsonic 9mm at 54 cents a round. I was running low on subsonic stuff for the can.

I have a good stock of ammo, with my ammo count being a 5 digit number. I know there are some people with more, but we all stock what we can afford without having the spousal unit getting upset.

As usual, the disclaimer: I don’t advertise, and receive nothing for my reviews. I have no relationship with any products or vendors that I review here, other than being a customer. I pay what you would pay. I only post these things because I think that my readers would be interested.

2awarehouse usually has decent prices and if you are in tx, you will get it within a day or 2 because they are in houston i believe…ordered from them a few times…that igman they carry isn’t too bad either…

Good tips, thanks. Most of my additional laying in of supplies as of now is food, useful medical supplies and devices, spare parts for critical equipment and additional water storage and treatment. Have a few extra new vehicle batteries that can also be used with a 12v solar recharging rig to provide limited power for LED lighting, small fans, USB chargers, multi band radios and the like. Working on a convertible stationary bike setup with an alternator rigged up, too.

All that being said, additional ammo is almost always a good idea. Then again, how much of it will any of us be in a position to use, before we get taken out by either govt goons or just a lucky thug or desperate looter who catches us off guard or overwhelmed by superior numbers? And as far as bugging out, ammo has the same problem as applies with PM’s, you can only transport so much if on foot due weight and bulk, and having a vehicle loaded up is almost guaranteed to get purloined when things go sporty. I don’t know where the proper balance is, and maybe there just isn’t one.

It isn’t how much I can use. The old saying is “If you are going to be in a gun fight, bring a big gun. Bring friends with guns.” So the extra ammo gives me options and the ability to arm and equip people who might be in a position to help me.

It also allows for caching of supplies in off site locations

There’s a gun show & sale this weekend nearby. I’m going with eyes wide open as to prices. Wonder if the Sheriff’s Dept. will be patrolling the parking lot with their tag readers again?
