If you are on social media, you have likely seen the video of the Philadelphia Eagles fan confronting a woman wearing Packers gear. He called a woman a cunt on video, seemingly because she was a fan of the opposing team.

Taken at face value, what the guy did and said was crass and deserved punishment. having been to sporting events with Philly fans, I can tell you that no matter what the sport, the fans from that city are just like this guy. The woman’s husband, had he done something, would have gotten his ass kicked by the rest of the nearby Philly fans.

Still, Internet lynch mobs are a thing, and this guy was soon identified by Social Media busybodies. The league banned him from all future NFL events, and I really feel that justice was served at that point. The punishment fit the crime, so to speak.

Still, that isn’t enough to satisfy the Internet busybodies. They don’t stop until a person has been destroyed. They also identified his employer and went after his career, successfully, I might add.

It also turns out that there is likely much more to this story. It seems that the woman and her soon to be husband who were the target of this verbal abuse are so-called “influencers.” The pair specialize in starting conflict and then filming the resulting chaos.

Fans have discovered that the fiance of the woman abused by Caldwell, Alexander Basara, is actually a content creator with close to 60,000 subscribers on YouTube.

And to add to the suspicion, Basara and his other half only attended Sunday’s game after he created a GoFundMe page asking for donations to help get him there – despite claiming to live an hour away from Lincoln Financial Field.

Knowing this, it is entirely possible that the guy and his woman provoked Caldwell so they could get his reaction on film.

That’s the issue with cancel culture- the Internet lynch mobs gather and destroy people’s lives without a thought as to whether or not they should. This very blog was targeted by a Cancel Culture warrior who wanted to get me fired and deplatformed. It was my readers who shot back and got her fired.

It shouldn’t be like that. It sucks that making a comment completely unrelated to work can result in the Internet gang looking to dox you so they can have you fired. Those are the rules we are being forced to live under, even if they do suck.

Philadelphia? Who would have thought a Yankee could be rude!?

Here is an novel idea, how about we all shut our traps if we have nothing good to say, particularly when it comes to mindless endeavors like sports which has always been the grand distraction from what needs attention!

He worked for a DEI consultancy, so cancel culture is part and parcel of his old employer’s business model, and if white he was black she they probably would have gotten away without comments. You built the culture, buster. Good for the goose, good for the gander. She may have ‘provoked’ the encounter but he was the one who took it to the gutter on camera.

If having your sportsball team lose a game makes you that unhinged you have a serious mental illness.

Hmm…this is on YouTube;
Alex Basara is organizing this fundraiser. Donation protected. My name is Alex, but you may know me as Basaraski Productions on YouTube.

From the NYPost:
Jon Marks, a podcaster with PHLY Sports, and Kyle Pagan, who writes for popular Philadelphia sports blog Crossing Broad, both referenced how Alex Basara, the fiancé of the harassed woman who filmed the stunning incident, set up a GoFundMe to attend the game and questioned his intentions.
The pair did both admonish the Eagles fan, since identified as Ryan Caldwell, amid their questioning. “The vulgar Eagles fan is clearly a POS, but the Packers fiancé who filmed the incident has a lot going on. How much did he instigate this?” Marks tweeted. “Look at his attitude going into the Linc. He was wearing a body camera to video stuff for content. He also has multiple GoFundMe’s to pay for his travel to Packers games etc. Need more info, but it feels like we’ve been manipulated by this dude.”“Does that not feel like a guy who’s fishing for content a little bit and got one dumb Eagles fan to eat the trash? He grew up in Pennsylvania. He knows how Eagles fans are. He asked his viewers to send him there so he could go inside the belly of the beast and he went inside it. It just so happens the belly contains an old guy yelling ‘c–t’ at his lady the entire game,” Pagan said.

“Now, to me, this is clear as day the reason why security was never notified what was happening. You do content for a couple years and you know what sells. He knew what he was getting on camera was gold. He’s done vlogs for his channel before. I wouldn’t be shocked if he was planning on doing one from this game. Again the Eagles fan – still a piece of s–t. There’s no denying that. But letting your girl take that much abuse and not doing anything about it? All for views. That doesn’t sit right with me either.”

So, that fat little schmuck has been found out.

My wife was born in South Philly and we both grew up in South Jersey. Getting called a hurtful word was one of the tamest things that can happen to you there. I remember when a judge set up court in the old long gone Vet Stadium during the football games. Most of the world remembers Eagles fans throwing snowballs at Santa. Go Birds!

I think I read that the guy who was fired from his job was working for a consulting company that specializes in diversity, equity and inclusion.

Oh, those snowballs were really ice balls, so that made it especially bad.

I enjoy your writing. The wife and I both have several decades of Fire, EMS and Rescue experience from our life in the Philly area.

Personally I don’t give a fuck. How many good people got hurt or lost their jobs to this DEI jerk off and his company?

Do I like any social media influencers? Fuck no, they are ALL scum.
Did he get setup as this progressed? Maybe, but who cares. Payback is a bitch.

Anyone white who is connected to anything DEI deserves everything bad that can happen to them…
